North Wales Computer Recycling Ltd

North Wales Computer Recycling Ltd North Wales Computer Recycling Ltd collect and recycle all end of life/unwanted computers and related products throughout North Wales and further.

We are certified by local authorities to carry out recycling of E-Waste. Under new WEEE laws, companies must be responsible for recycling their waste electronic items, which is often a costly exercise. Here at North Wales Computer Recycling Ltd, we offer a free computer and I.T. waste recycling service, from Anglesey, North Wales and beyond, where we recycle and/or re-purpose everything we can, lo

cally. We hold relevant licenses permitting the transport, sorting and recycling of the waste, and we send NOTHING to landfill. Examples of goods we accept are listed below:

Computers, laptops and servers
All components of the above (RAM, boards, processors, power supplies, hard drives etc)
Mobile telephones, tablets and consoles
Uninterruptible Power Supplies
Cables
Routers, modems, switches and other internet/telecom items

Other electronic items considered upon request

Sorry but no fridges/freezers, printers/copiers, scanners, CRT screens, used/non OEM toners and drums, air conditioners/dehumidifiers, smoke detectors,

We erase hard drives to the same methodology as UK government data, HMG Infosec 5, which is far beyond the requirements for most private individuals, small, medium and large businesses. Unhealthy drives are crushed, and a certificate of erasure/destuction is provided upon request. If you are interested in any of our services, please contact us with a rough description of the items you have available and a date and time that would suit you best for a free collection. We are happy to collect from residential and commercial properties, and can travel further afield depending on quantity/quality.

Part of a collection of networking equipment from a local business this week who are upgrading their infrastructure. Switches, UPS, desk phones and also the usual collection of laptops, chargers and other accessories - all to be assessed for reuse, or recycled as a worst case scenario, sending zero to landfill.

Just picked up some audio kit we dropped off at Atd Electricals TV & Digital Repair for assessment and repair. All items have been tested and repaired where necessary, given a clean bill of health, and are ready to find their way to a new home (after a thorough clean)!

This will be their final journey in the circular economy process, bringing existing items back into circulation with a clean bill of health. With re-use being higher on the waste hierarchy than recycling, we have ensured the best possible outcome for these items with a little hard work and know how!

Thanks Andrew - would always recommend for TV and audio/visual equipment repair!

We have collected a total of 280kg of misc IT and audio/visual equipment and accessories from both of the household waste recycling centres in Ynys Môn this week, under the Cylchol reuse scheme. We visited Gwalchmai yesterday and Penhesgyn this morning - and what a beautiful day it was too! 🌞

Hopefully with the warmer and sunnier months just around the corner, we will continue to see the weekly re-use weights increase - we’re aiming to see 15 tonnes collected under the re-use scheme in our first year!

Many thanks to Gwasanaeth Ailgylchu a Gwastraff / Recycling and Waste Service and their staff and Menter Môn and their staff for making this happen!

After a trial run, North Wales Computer Recycling are very pleased to collect IT and select electronic items from the Anglesey household waste recycling centres (Penhesgyn and Gwalchmai) on a weekly basis, for assessment for re-use under the Menter Môn Cylchol initiative. Laptops, computers, tv set top boxes, dvd players, audio and Hi-Fi equipment, networking and telecoms kit, consoles and accessories, chargers and adaptors etc. are all collected and brought back to our workshops where they are assessed for re-use.

Items that have life left to give are either refurbished in house or are passed on to others for refurbishment and reuse. Items that are broken or beyond economical repair are broken down to individual components in house, wherever possible, and are responsibly recycled, with nothing going to landfill, and any data stored on them sanitised appropriately.

We’re on target to collect 9700kg (9.7 tons) in a year, giving thousands of items another chance of life, rather than simply recycling them without assessment. We’re proud to be promoting a circular economy, keeping local waste local, and keeping more and more items out of the waste stream.

Mae Ailgylchu Cyfrifiaduron Gogledd Cymru bellach yn casglu eitemau TG ac electronig penodol o ganolfannau ailgylchu gwastraff cartref Ynys Môn (Penhesgyn a Gwalchmai) yn wythnosol, ac yn eu hasesu er mwyn eu hailddefnyddio dan fenter Cylchol MenterMon. Bydd eitemau fel gliniaduron, cyfrifiaduron, bocys teledu, chwaraewyr DVD, offer sain a Hi-Fi, citiau rhwydwaith a thelathrebu, paneli rheoli ac ategolion, gwefrwyr ac addaswyr i gyd yn cael eu casglu ac yn dod i’n gweithdy er mwyn eu hasesu a’u hailddefnyddio.

Bydd eitemau sydd dal i weithio yn cael eu hadnewyddu’n fewnol neu’n cael eu trosglwyddo ymlaen i eraill eu hadnewyddu a’u hailddefnyddio. Bydd eitemau sydd wedi torri neu wedi cyrraedd diwedd eu hoes yn cael eu torri yn rhannau bach yn fewnol, ac yn cael eu hailgylchu’n gyfrifol. Ni fydd unrhyw beth yn mynd i dirlenwi a bydd unrhyw ddata arnynt yn cael ei ddileu’n briodol.

Rydym ar ben ffordd i gasglu 9700kg (9.7 tunnell) mewn blwyddyn, gan roi bywyd arall i nifer o eitemau, yn hytrach na’u hailgylchu heb eu hasesu. Rydym yn falch o fod yn hyrwyddo economi gylchol, cadw gwastraff lleol yn lleol, a chadw mwy a mwy o eitemau allan o’r llif gwastraff.

We drove in a 3 van convoy to a college in Cheshire today to collect a couple of years worth of their end of life IT kit. Plenty of PCs, laptops, servers, switches and peripherals to sort through over the coming weeks, some to refurb, some to break down and recycle - a nice mixed bag!

Last week we were excited to provide some IT/Networking related props, via. Rondo Media Cyf, for use on the set of the locally filmed and produced ‘Rownd a Rownd’.
In 2025, we provided some electrical props for use in another Welsh language production, ‘Bariau’, also produced by Rondo Media Cyf.

We will be keeping a keen eye out for the props on the television when the episodes are aired!

And of course, once the props have served their purpose, we will collect them again ready for re-use/recycling, to give them another purpose once again.

That’s about 150 empty PC carcasses dropped off for metal recycling. Due to Windows 10 reaching end of support next month, these PCs were not able to meet Windows 11’s more rigorous security demands, and therefore have been decommissioned and 100% recycled.

A good start to the week with a collection of just under 100 PCs locally. We were in, loaded and then out within 30 minutes!

These machines are 2012 models or older and therefore are not able to cope with the requirements of modern day computing. We’ve fortunately got a free day tomorrow to process them before our next appointment on Wednesday morning.

We finally found the time to get the work van sign written today. We’ve owned the van for over a year, but struggled to find time to get the graphics done sooner. Being without the van for even a day can make business life very difficult, but we’ve got to admit, it was well worth the downtime!

Many thanks to the team at Dragon Signs of North Wales - we are over the moon with how it looks!

Not a typical collection for us but interesting all the same!

Yesterday we collected 5 x Betamax Recorders for recycling. Originally sold as a competitor to the video cassette (VHS) and therefore the VCR, unfortunately Betamax just didn’t take off and quickly became obsolete. Despite there still being some collectors and fans of the Betamax platform, these are a little too far gone to be salvaged for parts as the internals are all rusty, so we’ll break them down to their constituent parts and recycle them appropriately!
