The shop will be closed tomorrow after an accident I had at home on Saturday afternoon when trying to fit a new loft ladder. The ladder I was using to get up to the hatch door, buckled at one side and i fell down hitting, what felt like, every metal rung on the way down ! :-(
I hope to be open as usual from Tuesday 13th at 10am.

Just had a customer in today after going to another shop near me at the weekend with her PC problem. It all came about after she had changed the cooler on her system to a water cooler and the machine refused to boot up. It was diagnosed as needing a new motherboard and a 3070 graphics card. She came to me to get the motherboard fitted, which she had just bought after their advice. Combined cost would have been £720 including new Windows 11 licence.

Thankfully I decided to check it over before replacing any parts. The PC was fixed and ready to go in under 15 minutes, total cost...... £20.

Some 'repair' shops should stick to what they do best, phones. :-)

The latest version of Windows 11 has finally been released and will be loaded onto any full reload that comes into Core 2 Computing from today onwards. I downloaded it and ran a test install this morning to make sure it was still ok for doing 'offline' accounts setups and I am glad to say this can still be done - so no need for a Microsoft Online account. If you already have version 25H2 currently you should be getting the 26H2 in the usual way soon as part of your updates and the good news is it is very fast to install as you may not know this but the past few months updates have already been downloading all the components to your system and the final one rolling out from today onwards just turns them all on.

The shop will be closed this coming Monday for the local September long weekend. I have not had a full holiday this year and will using this day to relax. If you are lucky enough to also get this holiday I hope you have a nice relaxing day too :-) Open again from 10am Tuesday the 29th.

According to the council there are currently no works planned in this street at present, not according to the workmen who have dumped this right outside the shop, oh and the road is closed again ! And allegedly they sent out letters to all businesses to let them know before hand, which guess what? Never happened ! ☹️

The shop is open for business as usual despite the barricades on each side of the road preventing parking near me ☹️ Same for all businesses that rely on drop off by customers but nothing we can do until the road has been resurfaced - it would not be so bad if they were actually working on it, however they are not until the weekend !

NEWS to eclipse the rest today 🤣: 14 years ago today we opened at our current address of 10 Wellmeadow Street, here in my home town of Paisley. Thanks to all my regular customers over those years and those still needing my services in the future. Without customers the shop is just a building, so thank you all once again.

I will be closed this coming Monday for the Paisley fair holiday :-) Open again on Tuesday at 10 am. Lets hope for a nice sunny day

Blast from the past this morning, customer in trying to get data back from good old floppy disks from 25 years ago 😲 He was surprised when I said, no problem and copied them from his disk to a usb pen drive 🙂 Glad to be of help.
