What happens before the athletes arrive at the Commonwealth Games? 🏅
Earlier this summer, we spent a few days finding out at the University of the West of Scotland whilst filming a documentary about the GAPS programme.
GAPS (Gather, Adjust, Prepare & Sustain) brings together para-athletes and coaches from across the Commonwealth, helping them prepare for competition through training, workshops and support around performance, psychology, nutrition and recovery.
For this camp, athletes from 15 Commonwealth nations came together at UWS ahead of Glasgow 2026. We were there to capture their experiences and get a look at the work that happens away from the competition itself.
We heard some brilliant stories, met some genuinely inspiring people and got a real sense of what the programme means to those involved.
It was a great few days of filming, and a pleasure to work alongside the UWS team and students throughout the project.
