Glanvile Metals Ltd was one of our OG clients.

Back in 2013, we worked with then-owner Tony Glanvile on a rebrand that we think still looks great 13 years later!

Following the business’s acquisition by SWM & Waste Recycling Ltd we met with their MD, Martin, and longstanding team member Sue to refresh the Glanvile website.

Now we’re delighted to be helping them with what comes next.
Those conversations developed into a wider look at how we could support the business, and Glanvile is now working with us through InnerDot.

Our focus is on helping more local people and businesses understand what Glanvile does, what they can bring to the yard and how to get started.

That means joining up the practical details: clearer website information, useful answers to customer questions, a developing social media presence and plans for regular email communications.

It’s a good example of what InnerDot looks like in practice. We agree what the business wants to achieve, then work through the actions that support it, reviewing progress along the way.

It’s lovely to continue a longstanding relationship as the business enters its next chapter.

Expect to see a little more of Glanvile Metals around here.

We completely changed the way we do business… and here’s what we did.

A little while ago, we realised we were slipping into some familiar habits. Getting on with client projects, keeping everything moving and leaving our own business plans until we had a spare minute.

We knew how that story went, and we didn’t want to repeat it.

So we took a step back and looked at how we wanted DuoDot to work, both for us and for the businesses we support.

We changed our week, dedicating Monday to Wednesday to client projects and protecting Thursdays and Fridays for developing DuoDot.

And it got us thinking about how we could help other business owners make space for progress too.

Because when you’re busy running a business, marketing can easily become a collection of things you think you should be doing. A few social posts. A new leaflet. Perhaps a website update.

But what do you actually need those things to achieve?

That question is at the heart of InnerDot, our goal-focused marketing support.

We start with what you want to move forward. Perhaps you want more customers, more enquiries turning into bookings, or a clearer way to explain what makes your business worth choosing.

Our feed has been quieter than planned while we’ve been making some changes at DuoDot, and there’s some lovely client work waiting for its moment.

First up: South West Business Finance...
We’ve worked with the SWBF team on a light brand refresh and a new website, with business cards and roller banners bringing the updated look into the places they meet their customers too.

The website brings their business and property finance services, team and client stories together, helping visitors explore their options and get to know the people behind the advice.

Happy Birthday to us. 🎂 One year ago, Mark and Maggie decided it would be a brilliant idea to start another business. Looking back, we're still not entirely sure whether it was a stroke of genius or temporary insanity.

Either way, here we are.

One year later, Two office moves later. Several thousand cuppas later, and a lot of client projects later, although not several thousand thanks goodness. And somehow, still talking to each other.

It's been a year full of brilliant clients, exciting projects, new friendships, lessons learned, ideas tested, ideas abandoned, ideas thrown in the bin, and ideas that have been picked out of the bin, then grown into something much bigger than we imagined twelve months ago.

The funny thing is, the DuoDot we're celebrating today isn't quite the same DuoDot that started out last June.

Over the last year we've learned more about what businesses really need, where we can make the biggest difference, and what gets us genuinely excited to jump out of bed in the morning.

As a result, we've got some exciting things coming.

A refreshed brand, some new services. And some ideas that we're really looking forward to sharing with you, once we have dusted off the banana peel!

For now though, we're taking five minutes to eat cake and celebrate making it through year one.

A huge thank you to every client, supporter, collaborator and friend who has been part of the journey so far.

We genuinely couldn't have done it without you.
