We think this is a very exciting re-brand - and the move of a national apex cooperative body to using a country code for it's domain (us.coop) is very powerful. A great case study for others looking to send an effective message of cooperative identity!

Congratulations to the 16 cooperators from 16 countries who were elected to the ICA Global Board during our 2026 General Assembly on 15 September! As the global body for , it was enriching to see our members put .

As Dr Guarco said as he opened the meeting: “Democracy is not just an election mechanism; it's a way to relate to one another …in a cooperative, everyone counts and we must be participatory, democratic and inclusive.”

Following up on the success of the May 2026 virtual International Centre on Co-operative Identity and Energizing the Co-operative Brand, we would like to publish a special edition of the International Journal of Co-operative Accounting and Management with a focus on “Co-operative Identity, Branding and Marketing”.

Researchers and practitioners that took part in the Symposium are welcome to contribute to this publication, helping build the shared knowledge base on these topics and forwarding the work of co-operative growth, awareness, loyalty-building and impact. *****We would consider additional papers on these topics from those who did not present.
