MEAN WELL just released the highly reliable enclosed NSP series.

The series has multiple models available to cover a power range from 75W up to 2400W, and voltages from 5V up to 60V.

This new generation delivers up to 55% size reduction over the previous RSP models, giving higher power density and making it easier to integrate into existing enclosures with compatible mounting points or new design layouts with a smaller footprint.

Many models are full direct drop-in replacements, while others maintain compatibility on one pair of fixing points, reducing redesign time.

Power supplies in marine systems endure constant stress from salt, electrical noise, vibration, and tight thermal conditions.

In these environments, underperforming designs don’t just struggle—they fail.

You need complete electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), tight control of electromagnetic interference (EMI), mechanical durability, and verified compliance with marine standards.

That’s why a client in the marine technology sector approached Sunpower Electronics with a demanding brief:

• Compact footprint

• Reliable operation in harsh, high-vibration conditions

• Strict compliance with CISPR 11 Class B electromagnetic emission limits

Why Class B?

CISPR 11 defines acceptable electromagnetic emissions from industrial and scientific equipment.

• Class A allows higher levels, suitable for industrial-only settings

• Class B enforces stricter limits—required near sensitive systems like navigation, radar, and comms

Achieving Class B in a confined, interference-heavy marine environment requires more than just basic filtering—it takes deliberate design and specialist engineering.

Working from a trusted MEANWELL platform, we developed a tailored solution that met all environmental and EMC requirements. Our engineering support covered design refinement, pre-compliance testing, and final integration, ensuring dependable performance offshore, under real operating conditions.

The power supply now plays a critical role in a larger mission: supporting advanced marine electronics that enable more sustainable, data-led fishing practices. For the client, meeting environmental goals depended on system reliability, and we delivered.

Inside industrial panel designs, space is a universal constraint.

It’s a three-phase DIN rail PSU that answers these obstacles by design:
