Young people shouldn’t simply be asked to use the platforms adults create. Their voices should help shape them from the very beginning.

Meet Naomi Markos, a member of Tribela’s inaugural Youth Board and an IB student at Sandford International School.

Naomi is the founder of ER (Ethiopia Rises), a co-organizer of TEDxSandford International School Youth, a Girl Security mentee, and a young leader involved in HOSA and Model United Nations. Across every role, she is committed to creating inclusive spaces, amplifying diverse voices, and addressing the issues shaping young people’s lives.

We are proud to have Naomi helping us imagine and build a safer, more positive online world—designed with young people, not simply for them.

We’ve been a little quiet lately, but we’ve been working. 💛

Right now, we’re focused on growing Tribela the way we always hoped to: through our community.

If you’re already on Tribela, invite your friends. Invite your family. Bring the people you want to share this space with.

And to everyone who has joined us, supported us, tested with us, shared feedback, or simply believed that young people deserve something different online: thank you.

We’re building a new space for youth. Not another adult social platform adapted for kids, but a space designed with young people in mind from the beginning.

And we’re still just getting started.

We keep asking how to make social media safer for young people.

But maybe we’re asking the wrong question.

These platforms were never designed for children and teens in the first place. We’ve moved far beyond simply telling young people what not to touch, what not to watch, or how to behave online.

Young people deserve digital spaces designed around their stage of life, their wellbeing, their safety and the way they actually connect.

That’s why I built Tribela.

I believe the future of youth online isn’t about making adult social media slightly safer.

It’s about building something different.
