But when you’re looking for a new host, moving can suddenly make it feel that way.

Who has access?
Where’s it hosted?
Who looks after it?
What happens when something needs fixing?

We regularly inherit websites from other agencies, taking care of the hosting, maintenance and all the day-to-day technical bits.

Then, once everything’s settled, we can start looking at what could be better, from user experience and performance to CRO.

Yesterday, the Cornerstone team headed north for Active-Insight Active Net Scotland, a networking and education event for the health, fitness and leisure sector.

The morning sessions gave us plenty to think about: Mindset to Momentum and Data and Insight.

But the highlight, as always, was the people. It was brilliant to meet Scottish operators and other suppliers, who we're looking forward to continuing discussions with across both Cornerstone DM and Cornerstone Connect.

Yesterday our team headed to the latest event.

The theme: Future Proofing Public Leisure, with brilliant insights on community partnerships and accessible leisure running through most of the day.

Paige, our Head of Product, spoke about how modern marketing and messaging is reshaping the fitness and leisure sector, and what is genuinely driving footfall through the door in today's market.

Two lines that stuck with us:

"There is absolutely room for spontaneity in ex*****on, as long as there is complete discipline and strategy in direction."

"Personalisation is no longer a name in an email header. It's sometimes working out what you need to stop saying, and when."

Meet Usama, one of our talented Senior Developers 🧑‍💻

To most of us in the office, Usama speaks a different language like DevOps and CI/CD pipelines, but that ""different language"" is exactly why our clients get the benefit of his deep technical knowledge and seriously good troubleshooting skills.

He's not just heads-down in code either, he's a go-to mentor for the team, always ready to share workflows and ideas that make everyone better at what they do.

His why? "Love of the game, simple as that." Usama's been tinkering with PCs and modding games since he was 11, and that same drive to build something he's proud of is still what gets him out of bed today.
