For the first time ever, Year 8 students at our local secondary school will be taught how to use Chat GPT in their ICT lessons. It’s quite a controversial decision with many schools and colleges actively banning it’s use in any form.

Does it’s role as an educational resource outweigh the risks of it being used wrongly, or worse, dangerously? There’s no doubt that AI tools like Chat GPT will fast become integrated into society, so the idea is, that it’s better for our young people to be taught what it is, AND what it isn’t rather than pretending it doesn’t exist.
