🌟 Highlighting more of our Award Winners! 🌟

We’re shining a light on the individuals and organisations making a real difference to safe digging across the industry…

👏 Today’s spotlight: MWH Treatment
🏆 Best Planning Process Award Winner

MWH Treatment has been recognised for its outstanding approach to planning, demonstrating how robust processes can make a real impact on safe excavation. By prioritising thorough preparation, clear communication, and consistent use of best practice, they are setting the standard for how digging projects should be planned and delivered.

Their approach ensures that risks are identified and managed early, empowering teams on the ground with the information and confidence they need to work safely around underground assets.

This commitment to planning excellence not only strengthens compliance but also plays a crucial role in reducing the likelihood of service strikes and improving overall project outcomes.

The award highlights the importance of getting the fundamentals right, proving that strong planning is a key driver of safer, more efficient work across the industry.

💬 A fantastic example of how effective planning can directly support safer digging practices.

🌟 Celebrating our second day of Award Winners! 🌟

We’re continuing our spotlight on the individuals and organisations making a real difference to safe digging across the industry…

👏 Today’s spotlight: M Group Water
🏆 Best Safe Working Campaign Award Winner

M Group Water is raising the bar with CLAMP ON, a behaviour-led initiative designed to make safe digging simple, practical, and consistent on every site. By translating complex requirements into six clear rules, it empowers teams to take control of risk at the point of work.

📈The impact has been significant. A 60% reduction in service strikes, alongside improved compliance and reduced injury risk, highlights the power of clear guidance combined with consistent behaviours.

With strong leadership, rapid feedback loops following incidents, and ongoing development through CLAMP ON 2.0, the campaign has helped embed a shared safety culture across both internal teams and delivery partners.

The award was proudly collected by Martin Williams and James Alexander, recognising a collective effort to drive safer excavation practices across the board.

💬 A standout example of how clarity, consistency, and collaboration can deliver safer outcomes at scale.

👏 Congratulations, M Group Water, our 2026 Best Safe Working Campaign winner!

🌟 Kicking off our Award Winners showcase! 🌟

Over the next few days, we’re proud to celebrate the incredible people and organisations raising the bar for safe digging across our industry, and we’re starting strong…

👏 Today’s spotlight: Paul Rogers, Galliford Try
🏆 Safe Digging Hero Award Winner

Paul is the definition of a safety-first leader. On a major £8m project, he achieved an outstanding milestone, zero service strikes, by embedding a culture where safe digging isn’t just expected, it’s lived every day.

Through hands-on leadership and a relentless focus on best practice, Paul ensures his teams and supply chain consistently deliver to the highest standards, earning exceptional client trust and audit results along the way.

But his impact goes far beyond one project. From mentoring colleagues to contributing to company-wide improvements, Paul is helping drive safer excavation practices across the entire business.

Even in the later stages of a long and successful career, his passion hasn’t slowed, continuing to challenge poor practices, share lessons learned, and inspire others to do better.

💬 A truly deserving winner and a lasting influence on the industry.

👏 Congratulations, Paul, our 2026 Safe Digging Hero!

⚽️ From pavements to penalties, continuing our support for Prostate Cancer UK

Earlier this year, our team took on the London Landmarks Half Marathon, raising an incredible £3,291 for Prostate Cancer UK.

On National Damage Prevention Day, it felt only right to keep that momentum going.

We headed to the home of England football, St George’s Park, for a charity penalty shootout, with our very own Chris Goodier (GIS Technician) in goal.

The scene was set…
The pressure was on…
And the penalty takers stepped up ⚽️

We went on to raise a further £795 through National Damage Prevention Day and the Safe Digging Awards Evening, 159% of our £500 target 🙌

👏 LSBUD made a donation on behalf of attendees
⚽️ We also donated £10 for every goal scored during the shootout

A huge thank you to everyone who got involved and supported such an important cause 💙
