Seven years ago, Lance Hill took the helm at Eight Group. So to mark the milestone we're taking a second to look back and see all thats changed.

From new departments, new faces, a mezzanine floor, a print room overhaul including new presses to solar panels on the roof and achieving B Corp certification... But that's really just scratching the surface.

None of this happens by accident, Lance has been the driving force behind it.
Congratulations, Lance, and thank you for everything you've poured into Eight Group. What a seven years it's been!

Today we're saying farewell to Ian Yorke, who joined Eight Group way back in 2012. Leaving us today after more than 14 years with the business.

Ian has been the steady hand behind the scenes in our print studio as senior print operative. Creating customer print proofs, preparing print ready files, running and maintaining our digital presses, and making sure every print job hits the quality mark. Ian has seen not only the print studio change and evolve over the years but also the business itself.

What hasn't changed is Ian himself. Always up for a laugh, the first to try whatever snacks are going round, and always bringing that same energy and expertise to the print room. Ian, thank you for everything you've given to Eight Group over the years. You'll be missed by all of us, and we wish you the very best in your next adventure.

👏 Congratulations, Callum! Here’s to year two and continuing to build a career in print.

Meet Wayne Garton, Dawn Cook, Steve Richard and Chris Willets, four of the faces keeping production running like clockwork. From knowing exactly where every job is on the shop floor to saving the day when a deadline's on the line. They know their stuff inside out. So we thought we'd help you get to know them a little better with another round of who's most likely to...

Where they answered a range of questions from who'd know which machine's running just by the sound, through to who's first to volunteer for the trickiest finishing job.

Reckon you could tell our machines apart with your eyes shut? Tell us in the comments, we'd love to know if anyone else has that skill.

Dean Murray, Ian Yorke, and Callum Bevis are the ones keeping the print room ticking over, from spotting misalignments on test prints to knowing every paper stock by feel. So we thought we'd help you get to know them a little better with another round of who's most likely to...

Where they answered a range of questions from who'd catch a typo before anyone else, through to who's fixing a printer before the engineer's even been called.

Reckon you'd know a paper stock just by touching it? Tell us in the comments, we'd love to know if we've got any fellow print and paper nerds out there.

It's easy to forget how young the web still is given how much business now runs through it. Once upon a time a website was a nice to have, a digital brochure that supported sales. Now it's often the first proper interaction anyone has with a brand.

Most businesses need a moment to step back and properly audit whether their website is working as hard as it could.

Today's gives you the perfect excuse to explore what a proper digital audit could uncover for yours, link in the comments below.

feels like a reasonable excuse for a print company to talk about paper.

We help our customers who want assurance their paper that's come from forests actively managed rather than stripped bare, with more planted each year than gets cut down.
Plus a good amount of our paper is also carbon captured through one of our suppliers. On top of that we're a Carbon Balanced Printer, working alongside the World Land Trust to offset our wider paper and business operations. Plus the team's done more than one muddy day out planting trees with the Woodland Trust over the years.

None of this makes us perfect, sustainability in print is still very much a work in progress industry wide. But it's the kind of thing we'd rather be doing quietly and properly than shouting about once a year and forgetting the other 364 days.

What's one sustainable change your business made that's actually stuck? Genuinely curious what's working for other people.

Jo, Nick and Gabby are usually the first voice you hear on the phone or the first reply in your inbox. So we thought we'd help you get to know them all a little better with a quick game of who's most likely to...

Where they answered a range of questions from who knows where a job is without checking, through to who enjoys the smell of freshly printed litho.

Ever caught yourself having a sneaky sniff of a printed brochure? Tell us in the comments, we're pretty sure we're not the only ones.

Has your 2027 calendar project even begun if you don't have samples everywhere? Finishes being tested against each other, a lot of "what if we tried this instead" conversations before anything gets locked in.

Have a quick peek at what's currently on the table... wish us luck as we start to narrow this down and shape up a brand new calendar.

Are you looking at having a calendar for next year? And out of what's on the table here, which one would have caught your eye first?
