Hello everyone,

Recently, I was contacted by a gentleman to perform a diagnostic on his computer, the computer in question was a Sony VAIO all in one; he bought the machine about three years ago.
I am eager to share his story with you because recently he has been contacted by some people that called him on his landline claiming to be Microsoft, the gentlemen of the phone was adamant that they were contacting him to let him know that his computer was being hacked and it was full of viruses and malware. The person guided my customer through a series of steps that allowed the caller to enter his computer and illegally, implant a malware that made his computer vulnerable to viruses and external attacks.

The caller said that thanks to his remote accesses was able to solve the problems that my customer had allegedly had, furthermore he said that they would be able to keep his computer protected if he was willing to pay a subscription for a year for the total amount of £250.

THIS IS A SCAM! Microsoft will never contact a customer in his own home claiming that you have viruses or security problems of any kind!
My customer has been able to recover the money that he lost for his bank however the perpetrator of the scam left the computer for of malware and viruses so that the machine was practically impossible to use.

I performed a clean install Windows 7 installed legitimate and reputable antivirus software like Avast and Malwarebytes and as a breakup antivirus I installed Hitman Pro which is a cloud-based antivirus that is used for emergency and automatic security.

I wanted to share this story with you because it’s important to be aware that Microsoft will never contact you over the phone claiming that you have a virus or a security breach on your computer, so if you receive a call of this kind be aware that it is a scam, furthermore Microsoft with never ask you money for a protection plan.

You will be able to see a picture of the computer in question that now, is fully operational.

Hello everyone,

A little less than a week ago, a lovely couple came to me asking for advice on how to make their computer easy to use and also fast and easy to maintain.
Their computer is an OptiPlex 755 from Dell, they had Windows Vista pre-installed, they were not happy with the performance of the machine and they didn't know how to make it better.

After discussing their needs, we came to the conclusion that they needed the computer, mainly for Internet browsing, document editing and looking at the occasional family pictures.

The computer itself was still, it may opinion, a very good machine but windows vista wasn't allowing the computer to work it is full potential.

Many home users that are not really computer savvy they do not want to waste their time to do regular maintenance and optimisation to their machines so I suggested them to install something that didn't require any maintenance at all and was not sensitive to viruses.

After showing the customers some possible alternatives to Windows we decided to install Zorin OS for its simplicity and close similarity to Windows itself. The customers tried the computer for a couple of days and they called me back saying that the system was easy, user friendly and trouble-free.

Down below you will be able to see a picture of the desktop and realise how similar there is operating system is to the Windows 7 that everybody knows.
