SOS Software is a small independent developer of casual games that anyone can enjoy. We typically develop retro 2D games for the PC and Mac, but like to bring these up to date with high definition graphics and nice audio. Although SOS Software was founded in 1992, we have actually been developing games since 1983. We have released games for the BBC/Electron and the Atari ST. All of these titles can be downloaded from our main site for free.

A belated "hello" to you all...

Finally got my development tools up and running under Windows 11, so decided to take a look at the issues around Rockfall DX. Seems the issue I was having on my old laptop is not happening on my new one!

With that said, if you have yet to install under Windows 11, you can run the installer in Windows 7 compatibility mode to get the game installed.

If you already have the game installed, try uninstalling and then installing again, as per above.

I did have graphical issues at one point and switching the game to the OpenGL graphics driver helped. Although weirdly, I no longer have issues under DirectX. If you're having problems getting to the in-game settings you can edit the config file in C:\ProgramData\SOS Software\Rockfall DX (note the ProgramData folder is normally hidden). Chnage the "1" under "[gfx_driver]" to "0".
