Most students and trainees will never have the opportunity to regularly explore or train on a live process plant.
So how can education and training providers give learners a more realistic understanding of the industrial environments they may eventually work in?
TSCβs 3D Interactive Virtual Plants go beyond a basic model or visual walkthrough.
Learners can move around an industrial-scale environment, locate equipment, read indicators and interact with valves, switches and controls. When linked to dynamic process simulation, their actions can also affect the wider process.
The realism extends beyond the main equipment. Buildings, access routes, signs, barriers, changing weather conditions and even everyday details such as pipe supports, racks, muster points and safety showers all help create a convincing sense of being on a real plant.
That level of detail matters. It helps learners connect classroom theory with physical equipment, plant layout, process behaviour and practical operating decisions, within a safe, accessible and repeatable training environment.
Our Interactive Virtual Plants can be used on Windows PCs, through the cloud or with compatible VR headsets. Ready-to-use plants are available, or TSC can create a bespoke 3D environment for a particular plant, process or training requirement.
