Escape of Water is one of the most frequent and costly causes of insurance claims in the UK.

Aviva knows that better than anyone.

That's why they chose Quensus as a Specialist Partner.

Aviva understands that the best way to manage water risk isn't to pay out after the damage.

It's to stop the damage from happening in the first place.

Would you notice an ÂŁ10,000/year leak before the water bill arrived? đź’§

For Travis Perkins (Buckingham), consistently high water bills were a growing concern. They needed to find the root cause.

By deploying LeakNet, the team gained total visibility over their monthly water consumption. It didn't take long to get results:

🚨 The Alert: LeakNet flagged an abnormal flow of 8 litres per minute.
📉 The Cost: If left undetected, this hidden leak would have cost over £10,000 per year.
⏱️ The Response: Within just 40 minutes, the branch manager received an automated notification, pinpointed the issue to a single faulty toilet cistern, and fixed it.
âś… The Resolution: Using live data and trend analysis in FlowReporter, they instantly verified the repair was successful.

Hidden leaks don’t just waste water; they drain profits. Real-time monitoring turns reactive maintenance into proactive cost savings.

A hosepipe ban has been announced across the Thames Water region.

Following a very dry spring and three record-breaking heatwaves, a Temporary Use Ban has come into effect from Thursday, 23 July.

The restrictions are intended to reduce demand, keep water flowing and help protect the environment during the continued period of hot, dry weather.

While certain construction activities remain exempt, every organisation can still play its part by:
• Checking plumbing for leaks
• Reusing and recycling water where possible
• Ensuring urinals and other fixtures have suitable controls
• Lagging pipework to reduce heat gain

Periods of water stress highlight why proactive monitoring matters. Greater visibility helps organisations identify unusual usage, reduce avoidable waste and respond before small issues become costly problems.

Please check the official Thames Water guidance to understand how the restrictions may apply to your site.

Water leaks can cause serious damage and costly disruption, which is why smart leak detection systems using leak prevention algorithms are becoming essential in modern building management.

Using machine learning, FlowReporter’s leak prevention algorithms learn normal water usage patterns by analysing historical data across weekdays, weekends, and different times of day. The system then sets dynamic thresholds to identify unusual activity and trigger real-time alerts.

If a potential leak is detected, the system sends a first alert with details on usage and duration, allowing users to respond immediately. If there’s no action, a second-stage alert can automatically shut off the water supply to prevent further damage.

Over time, the system continues to learn from user behaviour, improving accuracy and reducing false alarms.

We’re delighted to share that Quensus has been shortlisted for the Environment Monitoring & Measurement Achievement Awards 2026 in the Smart Data, Digital Twins & Analytics in Water Projects category.

The shortlist recognises our Smart Water Analytics Project, where live water data analysis is helping transform the management of complex estates.

By turning monitoring data into actionable insights, we’re helping organisations improve visibility, reduce water waste, lower risk and make smarter operational decisions.

Our Heathrow Airport case study explores how intelligent water analytics delivered a 26% reduction in water consumption and improved operational visibility across one of the world’s busiest airports.

One service station. Three months. And ÂŁ65,000 saved.

Welcome Break needed to know where their water was going. High bills, no visibility, and no clear place to start.

We installed LeakNet, identified exactly where the waste was happening, and gave them a complete business case for fixing each issue prioritised by budget and return on investment.

The result? ÂŁ65,000 back in three months. And a clear blueprint to roll out across their other sites.
