I have posted this before, but it is still such a common problem that I thought it worthwhile to mention it again. Please feel free to share.
Having had a number of faulty laptops to repair recently, I thought it a good idea to share some helpful tips with you.
The two most common causes of laptop problems are overheating and rough handling.
Laptops get hot and need a good airflow for cooling. Always use your laptop on a hard, flat surface, never on a soft surface like a bed or the carpet, or indeed on your lap! If you want to use it on any of these surfaces then put something hard and flat, like a tray, under it first. Also, make sure that all the vents underneath and to the side of your laptop are kept clear of dust and fluff.
The most fragile moving part in your laptop is the hard drive.
Sudden knocks can easily cause damage to the hard drive and result in loss of data. It is always a good idea to back up data to an external hard drive, or indeed to the cloud, if you can.
Handle your laptop with care and make sure it doesn't overheat, and you could save hundreds in repair bills, not to mention the danger of losing your treasured photos and files.
