From a conversation at the North East Hospitality Showcase to a live installation last week.

Our latest client has recently refurbished their upstairs room, complete with a pool table and darts. Opening the upstairs bar every evening would mean additional staffing costs, so we’ve installed a self-service kiosk that lets guests order food and drinks without leaving the room.

When it’s not being used for orders, the screen promotes upcoming events. Guests can also book tickets for experiences such as bottomless brunch directly from the kiosk.

Across our client sites, kiosk orders average around 40% more in value than orders placed at the till, as guests have time to browse the menu and add extras at their own pace.

It’s great to see a conversation at the showcase turn into a working solution so quickly.

Thank you to everyone who made the first North East Hospitality Showcase such a success!

What began as an idea became a day of conversations, new connections and support for the North East hospitality community. From all of us at Octo-POS, thank you to every visitor and commercial partner who joined us.

It was a pleasure to welcome so many people from the industry, including James Easom from UKHospitality. A special thank you to Anna Wadcock and the team at The Maldron Hotel for hosting us so brilliantly.

We’re also delighted that the event has raised £1,100 for Leukaemia Care so far, with more donations still to come.
