Job Title: Technician
Job Description:
As a technician at Phones Connect Limited, you will be responsible for various tasks related to repairing mobile handsets. Your main duties will include making cosmetic repairs, diagnosing faults, performing flashing of handsets, conducting function tests, changing batteries/accessories, and liaising with senior technicians. You should also be computer literate and adaptable to changes within the role.
Responsibilities:
- Practice Electro Static Discharge awareness to prevent accidental damage to equipment.
- Perform basic fault finding to identify issues.
- Troubleshoot blacklisting, SIM card, or network problems to determine if the fault lies with the handset or accessories.
- Conduct functionality checks to eliminate user error.
- Determine the warranty status of a handset to assess if it is damaged.
- Use RF test equipment and PC to perform functional tests on handsets and identify defects.
- Perform software-related and cosmetic repairs to remedy diagnosed faults.
- Enter job details via TIM to maintain the repairs database.
- Follow manufacturers' guidelines for repairs.
- Provide support to the team when necessary.
- Achieve agreed targets to meet the business requirements.
- Maintain equipment by performing anti-static checks, regular calibration, and installing software upgrades.
- Take initiative to improve performance and quality of work.
- Meet all business Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Success Measurement:
Your success will be measured by Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) set around your key areas of responsibility. The Repairs Department must repair all customer mobile handsets and have them back with the customer within 14 days in satisfactory working order.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in the repairs department.
- Flexibility with working hours as per the needs of the business.
- Proficiency in using PC.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Good time management and attendance.
- Competent in using Office 2010.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and develop oneself.
Work Hours:
This position requires working Monday to Friday, from 09:00 to 18:00, totalling 37.5 hours per week.
