As part of this year's Black History Month theme, Honouring Our Communities, we spoke to members of our Black Professionals at VodafoneThree Network about the people who helped shape their journey.

Meet Charlotte Ambar, a Propositions Specialist at VodafoneThree and the Events Lead of our Black Professionals at VodafoneThree Network.

Growing up, Charlotte's parents always encouraged her to try new experiences and step outside her comfort zone. Her first challenge? Learning the names of everyone at her after school clubs.

"Although it was difficult at first, I gradually became more comfortable starting conversations and making friends. Before long, I could barely remember what I had feared. Today, I enjoy meeting new people, and my shy days feel like a distant memory. My parents taught me that fear does not have to be a barrier and that I can achieve anything I put my mind to, even when it initially feels daunting. I would not be who I am without my parents' encouragement to embrace new experiences, keep improving and believe in myself."

Sometimes, the people who shape our journey the most are the ones who encourage us to take that very first step.
