Do you use IONOS for your domains? From next month, you may have a problem if you use non IONOS email accounts such as Gmail, etc. IONOS are going to start blocking outgoing email that doesn't originate from their own mailboxes. Effectively that removes the ability to use alias addresses via their servers. For a company that offers email forwarding, and unlimited email addresses for domains that they host, that's a very strange idea. It's a bit like "Hey, our servers are being spoofed",
"No problem, we can fix that. Stop anyone using them!",
"Even our paying customers?",
"Yeah, they can just do what their told. We'll make it someone else's problem".

The telephone scams are continuing, with a few different ones to be aware of. Automated calls informing you that you’ve placed an Amazon order for an expensive item, of that your Amazon Prime membership is renewing are undoubtedly bogus.

Automated calls informing you of a problem with your National Insurance number and threatening your arrest are also bogus.

Calls from “your Internet service provider” to tell you of a problem will also be bogus.

In short, don’t trust such calls, and never go to any websites that they give you, and don’t give them your personal details, log in credentials, or credit card details. Just hang up.

Telephone Scams are on the increase.

There are many telephone scams currently operating. If you get a call from “BT” or “Microsoft” regarding a problem with your Internet, it’ll be a scam.

Similarly if you get a call telling you that your Amazon Prime subscription is about to renew, that’s a scam too.

They all try to talk you through several “demonstrations of problems” resulting in you giving them remote access to your computer, and then your bank or credit card account details.

Unfortunately such scams are widespread, and some can be very convincing. Stay vigilant.
