PC Motherboard Replacement - PC randomly begun turning off and then didn’t turn on at all. Believed to have been a short circuit on the motherboard therefore a new one was ordered, fitted and everything was working good as new. Also the CPU fan/heat sink was replaced with a new one to update the efficiency and aesthetic. 👨‍💻

PC Boot Up Fix 👨‍💻

Reported Issue:
PC would look to be operating fine but it would not boot up on screen and the Mouse and Keyboard wouldn’t work.

Technical Investigation:
I opened up the PC and took out the RAM cards and then tested them individually in the slots as well as reset CMOS Battery. One of the Three RAM cards was faulty and caused the PC not to boot but when the two of the working ones were placed back in to the PC they also prevented boot up meaning a faulty motherboard that will need replaced. Once the PC was on again I ensured that all software and firmware was updated and tried again but it was the same result. Worst case scenario the CPU memory channel has failed but that is unknow without further testing.

Serviced Resolution:
Customer is happy without further investigation and a device clean and is happy to use the one RAM card for the time being as the PC is now working fine but a new motherboard will most likely be needed if the customer wants to increase their RAM capacity.

Sony Remote Repair 👨‍💻

Reported Issue:
The remotes buttons where inconsistent when pressed and some did not work, the arrow pad was off centre and did not work either.

Technical Investigaton:
Took the remote apart and investigated the circuit board and soldering. There just appeared to be some dirt and some sort of fizzy juice residue.

Serviced Resolution:
I cleaned the device thoroughly, carefully and put it back together. The device is now working as intended.
