We're closing early today due to an appointment. Closing around 12.15, but then open again as normal tomorrow.

We'll be closed on Monday 6th April for Easter Monday too, gives me an extra day to work through my pile of Easter eggs 😂

We are having ourselves a teeny wee break. It's been a challenging start to the year with one thing and another, so just a couple of days away to recharge and refresh 😀

We will be closed Tuesday 10th March to Thursday 12th March, reopening at 9 on Friday.

We will be closed tomorrow, Thursday 5th February, for my father in law, Bill's, funeral.

A trully lovely man, loved and missed by many, we will celebrate a life well lived and share our memories, before reopening as normal on Friday at 9.

Peacefully, with his family by his side, at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Dundee, on Monday, January 19th, 2026, William (Bill) Valentine Hurst, aged 85 years, beloved husband of Myra, a much loved dad of Fiona and the late Stuart, a loving grandad of Iona, Amy, Hayden and friend to many.

Funeral service to be held at Emslie S. Collier & Son's Chapel Of Rest, Broomfield Road, Montrose, on Thursday, February 5th, at 2:00p.m., to which all are respectfully invited.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if desired, may be made towards the Royal Victoria Hospital Ward 4 Comfort Fund and Montrose R.N.L.I.

Please feel free to wear a splash of colour.

So, sadly on Monday night, my partner's Dad, my Father In Law passed away. A truly lovely man, who will be sorely missed by the family and by so many. I had the good fortune to get to know him well over the last seven years, and have loved my time with him. May you rest in peace Bill.

From a business point of view, with funeral arrangements etc. I will be in and out of the office a bit over the next week or two. Tomorrow I will be opening a little later, probably around 10.30 as we have an appointment.

What's that? Oh my goodness, it's a half day 😀

So, having been bullied by friends and family to try to take a wee bit more of a break, the beginning of the year seems like a good time to make that change. New year, new me, and all that nonsense 😂

To be honest, a lot of the Murray Street shops take the traditional half day on a Wednesday so we were always left feeling a bit lonely on Wednesday afternoons 😀

Starting this week we will now take the half day and close at 1 on Wednesdays, so our updated hours will be:

Monday: 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
Tuesday: 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
Wednesday: 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.
Thursday 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
Friday: 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
Saturday: Closed
Sunday: Closed
