My very own "30 Squares" is giving traditional team building a bit of a shake-up.
Instead of sitting in a meeting room doing the usual exercises, teams head out into the real world to solve clues, find 30 locations and work together against the clock.
It gets people:
- communicating
- problem-solving
- exploring
- competing
- and, most importantly, actually enjoying themselves
We now have 30 Squares team-building challenges around Montrose, Aberdeen, Edinburgh and York, with more locations being added.
It works for small teams or larger groups split into competing teams, and it’s a great way to combine a day out with something that genuinely encourages teamwork.

So… what have I been up to so far in 2026?
On top of the usual day-to-day work at Millennium Software — IT support, supplying new PCs and hardware, and developing bespoke software systems for clients — I've somehow found the time to work on a few of my own projects too!
And looking back, it's actually been quite a year so far.

This started with an idea from my wife Julie. As an ADHD coach, she saw how difficult it can be for someone to find the right coach for their particular needs.
She had the idea, I built CoachFinder4U, and this video tells the story behind what we're trying to achieve.

When I look back at all of this alongside the client work at Millennium Software, I suppose there's one common thread...
I love taking an idea and figuring out how to turn it into something real.
And we're only in August!

🚀 The response to CoachFinder4U has been incredible...

A few weeks ago, Julie and I launched CoachFinder4U with one simple goal...

To help people find the right coach for their needs, while helping great coaches connect with the right clients.

Like anyone launching something new, you always wonder whether people will understand your vision.

We're delighted with the response so far:

✅ 11 coaches have already verified and joined the platform.
📝 13 more coaches are currently completing their profiles.
🎉 We've already received our first genuine client request.

We've also been overwhelmed by the encouragement from coaches across the UK. Just a few of the messages we've received include:

This week reminded me why I enjoy working in technology.

On the surface, people see a website, a piece of software or a computer that just works.

What they don't see are the hours spent testing, fixing edge cases, thinking "what happens if someone clicks this?", and making sure every update is reliable before it ever reaches a customer.

Whether I'm:
💻 Developing bespoke business software,
🖥️ Providing IT support,
🌐 Building websites, or
🚀 Launching new online platforms,

the goal is always the same...

Make technology simpler, more reliable, and something people can trust.

The best compliment I can receive isn't "that's clever."

It's hearing someone say:
