I would always advise getting the later generation (Intel 8th or later) or Ryzen 3000 series or later. Later means 2019 or later. Prices ranging from £200-£300 for these newer laptops. Hard drives might be old technology now, but there is still a role for larger ones with 4TB hard drives less than £100 but 4TB solid state drives costing around £250. For 1TB or less, the price is similar.
