IT'S THROWBACK THURSDAY!

Does anyone remember these kind of televisions?

On 1st June 1953, we delivered this tiny 9" Pye black and white television to a customer named Joe Bennett, who lived in Shirebrook - all ready to watch the Queens coronation in Westminster Abbey!

As this was one of the very first televisions in town, we understand that the whole street gathered around to watch the crowning of Queen Elizabeth and see the big day unfold!

Much has altered around the Shirebrook area since then, but one thing remains totally unchanged. Our small family owned electrical shop on Main Street is still here and open.
