Chariot Office Supplies have been supporting Oasis for over 10 years. From the very beginning, Mike Carter has approached this partnership not just as a business supporter, but as part of the Oasis family. Chariot’s consistent generosity and practical support have helped Oasis quietly and faithfully week by week, and Mike is a deeply valued Oasis Business Partner. We are so grateful for him and his team, and for the journey we continue to share together.

Mike’s Story - Chariot first connected with The Oasis Centre around 10 years ago when I attended a business networking event in the heart of Gorton. Little did I know that this would be the moment I met Victoria and began what has become an incredible journey as part of the Oasis family.

After meeting Victoria and being truly touched by her introduction to Oasis, I was invited to visit the Oasis Centre, which at the time was operating from a local church in Gorton. Walking through those doors and experiencing the love and warmth of both the Oasis team and the people coming for support was something I had never encountered before. I instantly wanted to understand more about the work Oasis was doing and the impact it was having on so many lives in the local community.

As a local business, it can be difficult to know how to directly help people in meaningful ways. It quickly became clear that Oasis offered a way to connect and support those in greatest need. The range of care and compassion shown across the different areas of Oasis made it feel like the most natural and effective way for our business to get involved.

I have been blessed in my own life, and seeing so many people facing real challenges being supported with dignity and kindness gave me a strong desire to grow my business further so that we could support Oasis in any way we could.
One of my fondest memories is when Chariot donated arts and crafts stationery for an Easter card competition at Oasis, along with chocolate eggs as prizes. I was genuinely blown away by the effort and creativity people put into making cards for friends and loved ones. I’ve made many big decisions in my life, but none quite as difficult as choosing the winners, every card was amazing.

What makes Oasis so special to me is that nobody is judged and nobody is turned away. Everyone is welcomed with open arms, regardless of background, faith, or circumstance. For me, Oasis shows the true meaning of community and unconditional love in action.

It’s hard to believe that the Oasis team has been supporting people for 25 years. Everyone at Chariot is committed to continuing this partnership long into the future, because we know Oasis is a lifeline in our community and one of the most meaningful ways we can offer support where it’s needed most.

Thank you to every single person involved with Oasis, and especially to Victoria, who has dedicated her life to creating something so unique and special at the heart of our community.
