Personalisation is about much more than using someone's first name. It's about making supporters feel recognised.

That might mean referring to their previous support, acknowledging the impact they've made or sending communications that reflect the causes and campaigns they care about most.

The more relevant your communications feel, the more likely supporters are to read them, respond to them and continue their relationship with your charity.

Personalisation isn't clever marketing. It's good stewardship.

BLOG: Templates make design easier. They can also make brands disappear.

Scroll through LinkedIn or Instagram for a few minutes and certain things start to look very familiar. The same fonts, the same pastel blocks, the same little geometric flourishes. Different company, different logo, but somehow the same look.

DIY design tools have made it incredibly easy to produce something that looks clean and presentable. That’s useful, but it has also created a problem for brands trying to stand out. When everyone has access to the same shortcuts, everyone starts to look remarkably similar.

Good design isn’t always about saying less.

Charities do so much for communities they support, there’s a lot worth talking about.

For many of our clients, that means creating brochures and reports that bring together multiple causes, stories, statistics and ways supporters could help.

The challenge isn't cutting the important information.

It's finding a way to organise it so the reader can take it all in without feeling overwhelmed.

By creating a clear visual hierarchy, distinct sections and a consistent creative approach, we can turn a lot of information into a brochure that feels easy to navigate and engaging to read.

Sometimes it’s about making more easier to understand.

Take a look to see how we approached it. 👇

When a supporter stops donating, it can be easy to assume they've lost interest but more often than not, they've simply lost touch.

People's lives change, emails get buried and appeals compete for attention. If supporters don't hear how their gifts are making a difference, their connection can gradually weaken.

Not every communication needs to ask for a donation, sometimes the most valuable thing you can do is remind supporters why they chose your charity in the first place and what you're doing with their donations.

A silent supporter isn't always a lost supporter, maybe they just need a reason to reconnect.

BLOG: Fundraising isn’t getting any easier. But how might we prevail?

Household budgets are still under pressure, charity costs are rising and many organisations are being asked to do more with less.

So when donations are harder won, is the answer really to ask more often?
Our latest blog looks at why better targeting, clearer messaging, stronger creative and showing people what their support actually achieves matter more than simply turning up the volume.

Because when every pound matters, that includes the ones you spend asking for it.

Finding new supporters is important, but it's only part of the fundraising picture.

One of the biggest opportunities for many charities is reconnecting with the people who already know and care about their cause. When communications become less frequent or more transactional, even loyal supporters can gradually drift away.

If you're planning your autumn fundraising, it might be worth asking one simple question:

Who on your database just needs a reason to reconnect?

One of the things we enjoy most about working with charities is seeing the variety of fundraising ideas being brought to life.

From appeal mailings and supporter newsletters to challenge events and festive campaigns, no two fundraising calendars are ever quite the same.

What fundraising activities have you got planned over the coming months?

We'd love to hear what you're working on.

While summer is still with us, autumn campaigns are just around the corner. The charities that see the strongest results are often the ones that start planning now, before diaries fill up, production schedules tighten and deadlines begin to overlap.

Whether you're preparing an autumn appeal or looking ahead to year-end fundraising, we hope you'll find our checklist useful along the way.

We'd love to hear how you're getting ready for the months ahead.

BLOG: WHEN EVERYONE ELSE GOES QUIET - DON'T.

Why the summer slowdown can be a surprisingly good time to make yourself heard...

If experience has taught us anything, it’s that August has a habit of being written off a little too quickly.

Remember September starts BEFORE SEPTEMBER!

Marketing gets eased back, campaigns are put on hold and businesses quietly decide they’ll pick everything up again when everyone is properly back at their desks. We’ve never been fans of that approach - you just can't keep us quiet...
