A new project documenting the surf scene in Newquay, Cornwall. Rather than focusing solely on waves and action, the work looks at the in-between moments of the culture and the personalities amongst it.

For our 5th year we want to shout about our amazing clients in every way we can, so from now until the end of the year we will be featuring a photographer or artist each Thursday. As part of this we will be producing a 10x8 print of each featured image with the plan to exhibit all of the images in an exhibition at the beginning of next year.

We are so privileged to work with such a broad range of photographers and artists who all have such a diverse range of practices and approaches to using the lab - we want to be able to reflect this on our platform and spend this year building an even stronger community.

I also record the following with my images:
Taken: October 2025
Location: Livingstone, Zambia (Close to Victoria Falls)
Roll #: 142

Image and project Description:

The image attached is of my sister and a stranger we met playing a traditional game we call nsolo. Behind them is The Lookout Tree. This ancient giant boabab tree is estimated to be 1,000 to 2,000 years old. It is a local meeting place and popular tourist attraction with a raised viewing platform, located near the Victoria Falls.

This image captures a moment that perfectly presents the culture and community I come from and though isn’t currently included in my ongoing project I AM BECAUSE WE ARE, it aligns directly with the project that presents the joy and that exists within the Black communities that show our connection to a common nurture that’s greater than our individual selves.

For our 5th year we want to shout about our amazing clients in every way we can, so from now until the end of the year we will be featuring a photographer or artist each Thursday.
