Our client keeps business running smoothly by resolving and preparing complex hardware, software, and testing issues, on-site for our client orders on daily basis.
As an IT Support Technician, you will report to the IT Manager in your site and will be responsible for working closely with the business, fellow technicians to implement and dispatch customer custom-built orders as well as day to day support to meet our operations present and future business needs, such as warehouse stock merchandising.
You will be a key part of a multinational team and thrive in delivering high-quality results and always be on the lookout for improvements. Your role will involve working on a fast-paced assembly line assembling refurbished major brand workstations, laptops, and desktop computers.
There will be no such thing as a quiet day and with last-minute orders to fulfill you will need to work quickly, precisely without compromising on quality.
This role is contract based will end on 31/01/2022.
Responsibilities:
Your role as an IT Technician will include:
· Diagnosing computer/laptop problems.
· Monitoring and testing computers/laptop processing systems.
· Assembling IT equipment at the component level – RAM, CPU, Hard drive, etc.
· Installing software and performing tests on computer equipment and programs.
· Setting up computer equipment for clients.
· Scheduling maintenance and teach clients to use programs
· Setting up Microsoft Windows 10.
· Resolve all IT related queries for customers
· Set-up new hardware such as PCs, Laptops, and iPad’s
· Preparing customer orders on daily basis.
· Be flexible to assist in other departments
Required Skills:
· Strong computer & laptop hardware knowledge is essential.
· Good knowledge of WDS services.
· Minimum of 2 years of works experience in a similar field.
· Strong Windows operating system knowledge.
· A full driving license is essential.
· Strong problem-solving and attention to detail
· Good writing and oral communication
· A strong sense of customer service and demonstrable history of excellent customer-facing skills.
· Demonstrable methodical problem solving and excellent analytical skills.
· Able to keep others informed of information that contributes to the performance of the team, department, or company (Team player).
· Be self-motivated and able to work alone as well as part of a team.
· Able to prioritize in a complex, fast-paced environment.
· Experience in establishing new processes and procedures as well as following those already in place and always looking for improvements.
· A willingness to roll their sleeves up and be hands-on.
· A good understanding of computers (both hardware and software) and a demonstrated willingness to learn and apply new technology and to train and learn new skills.
· Demonstrable strong initiative (is proactive) and motivation with the ability to learn quickly.
· Ability to be flexible in working hours and shift patterns to provide cover for operational requirements.
· Being punctual, reliable, and presentable.
· A good memory of specifications and for work procedures.

Please note: The position will involve some physical labor. IT Support Technicians execute physical work in warehouse environment e.g. working in confined spaces; working on workbench standing, lifting up to 15 kg; site cleanliness and maintenance work; accessing elevated spaces (working at height).
