Who says working in IT is just sitting behind a desk drinking coffee?

🏋️‍♂️☕A bit of a different gym session for the team today!Getting a client ready for their big move-in day means making sure their tech works the second they walk through the door. But before we can rack the servers, patch the cables, or get the broadband fired up, there’s the small matter of getting this 2-metre-tall, 42U steel comms cabinet up the stairs... Narrow landings, tight turns, and a serious leg workout later, it’s safely in its new home!

It sounds counter-intuitive, but the secret to great wireless is solid physical cabling! 📶🔌

We’ve all dealt with it: crackly cordless phone calls, dropped conversations the second you step into a corridor, and frustrating Wi-Fi blackspots.

We recently sorted an office infrastructure upgrade to fix exactly that:

High-level placement: Routed fresh data cabling directly above ceiling and door lines to give wireless access points and DECT phone bases clear line-of-sight across rooms and partitions.

Neat & tidy: Used clean mini-trunking and dedicated surface back boxes to keep everything protected and out of sight without tearing into walls.

Power over Ethernet (PoE): Everything runs straight from the network cable back to the main switch—no dangling power bricks, less clutter, and centralised backup power.

Yealink DECT VoIP: Handsets now stay locked onto a dedicated base station, allowing staff to roam freely without jitter or dropped calls.

The result? Crisp, crystal-clear VoIP calling and fast, dependable Wi-Fi that just works wherever you walk in the building.

🏃‍♂️🧡 Blue, Orange, & High-Vis! 🎽💙

Some of our team had the absolute best time volunteering at 5K The Centre Way in Victoria Park, Widnes on Saturday! The event was organised by the incredible team at Halton Cancer Support Group, who are celebrating a massive 30 years of helping people in our local community.

Our guys were down at the park bright and early from 9:30 AM helping to set up the event hub, move kit, and mark out the 4.5-lap course. Once the crowds arrived, we suited up in our high-vis vests to help marshal the route, manage donation buckets, and shout massive words of encouragement to all the runners, walkers, prams, and pups!

The atmosphere at the Victoria Park Bandstand was absolutely buzzing! From the beautiful live music by the Farnworth Community Choir to the brilliant pre-race warm-up with the legendary Pink Tutu Guy, the community spirit was out in full force. Local favourite The Grumpy Northern Foodie cut the ribbon at 12:30 PM to kick off the main event!

After helping with the big pack-up and clearing the park, our volunteers headed off to their own weekend plans—a bit tired, but so proud to have lent a hand.

A massive shoutout to Event Managers Nicola and Dez, the charity staff, and every single person who laced up their trainers to raise vital funds. You are all superstars! ⭐

We replaced their old, sluggish Cat5 cabling with fresh Cat6 LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) – purple for easy spotting and extra safety in an industrial space.
Faster speeds, better reliability for inventory systems & devices, and much safer if there's ever a fire risk. No more bottlenecks or random dropouts!

Big shoutout to the legends on site today!

We almost got the entire crew in one frame this afternoon – close enough for a cracking group photo in the warehouse! From left to right: the guys who make it all happen – building, installing, problem-solving and keeping everything flying like pros.

Hard hats, hi-vis, a few flexes and big smiles 😄. Love seeing this international crew come together – different backgrounds, same top-notch attitude and graft.
