August at GrowTraffic. We've worked hard, played hard, said goodbye to our leopard-print boss, Demps, bribed Lani with shark stickers, and lacquered Dalley.

Dalley is supposed to be networking and promoting GrowTraffic.

So what is he actually doing? 😱

He’s stood outside BANG Padiham & Burnley, stroking a cat, whilst everyone else is inside doing what they’re actually supposed to be doing. 🙀

To make matters worse, when he eventually arrived back at the office, he had the audacity to announce that he’d “won at networking” and was “the best networker there.”

The best networker there?!

YOU WERE OUTSIDE STROKING A CAT, DALLEY. 🐈🤦‍♀️

Apparently, networking from the other side of the window still counts. 🪟😂

Hannah had a great time speaking at last week!👷‍♀️👠

Couldn't make it? Here's what you missed...

Hannah’s talk on 'Demystifying SEO' broke down what Google is actually looking for, specifically E-E-A-T: Experience, Expertise, Authority and Trust.

In simple terms, your website needs to show that:

🔎 You know what you’re talking about
💡 You have genuine expertise in your industry
🤝 You’re a reliable and legitimate business
🌐 Your website gives visitors a good, trustworthy experience

She also shared some practical things that every business owner can do, from keeping your website and social media active to regularly creating helpful content, building your presence in relevant directories, and making sure your website has those all-important trust signals.

SEO isn’t just about ranking on Google. It’s about building an online presence that makes people (and search engines) trust your business.

Thanks again to Hard Hats To Heels for having us!

Search is getting more complicated.

A few years ago, when someone said they wanted to “rank on Google”, everybody knew roughly what they meant.

Now people search on Google, ask through ChatGPT, use AI Overviews, watch things on YouTube and TikTok, search via social, and move between all of them before they ever make an enquiry.

But the fundamental job hasn’t really changed.

Your business needs to be visible when somebody is looking for what you do.

They need to understand why they should choose you.

And when they finally land on your website, it needs to turn that interest into an enquiry or a sale.

That’s increasingly how we think about what we do at GrowTraffic.

SEO is still a massive part of it. So are PPC, content, websites and conversion. AI is becoming part of it too.

But none of those things are really the objective.

Growth is.

And increasingly, the interesting bit is working out how all those different parts of search and digital marketing fit together rather than treating them as separate little boxes.

That’s probably where GrowTraffic has changed most over the last few years.

We’re still an SEO agency.

We just have a much bigger definition of what search means now.

We're extremely devastated to share this with you all...

Big D Demps is packing her bags and leaving GrowTraffic, for *real* this time😢

For 4 and a half years, Erin has flown the GT flag fiercely. We couldn't be prouder of all that she's achieved in her tenure:

✅ Becoming Content Marketing Manager
✅ Helping make Rossendale Means Business what it is today
✅ Surviving (and leading) countless strategy meetings
✅ Reminding us on a daily basis that she's all our boss
✅ Being the face of GrowTraffic across multiple networking groups in Lancashire
✅ Supporting and training Lani and G (who will miss making TikToks that wind everyone up with her dearly)
✅ Showing up every day for us all, no matter what

We're going to miss her so, so much. Her ridiculousness, her ideas, her constant commentary, and yes… even the phrases we never asked to hear again (slay, yes queen, etc).

But as much as we're gutted to see her go, we're incredibly proud of everything she's achieved here and can't wait to see what she does next.

Demps, thank you for everything💖

This post is for all business owners trying to survive the summer holidays.

In the words of Holly Willoughby: Right, deep breath. Firstly, are you ok?😂

Juggling childcare and the day-to-day business stuff is tough; we totally get it!

When your hands are full and time is scarce, only the essential work gets done. And, unfortunately, marketing doesn’t qualify.

But here’s the thing: marketing is one of those things that’s easy to put on pause, but much harder to get moving again.

If you stop showing up, stop creating content, stop engaging with your audience and stop working on your visibility, you can quickly lose momentum.

And while you might not notice the impact immediately, your competitors are still out there. They’re still being seen, building relationships with potential customers and keeping their businesses front of mind.

That doesn’t mean you need to be doing *more*.

Sometimes, it’s about simply keeping things ticking over.

✔️A few consistent social posts.
✔️A blog going out when it needs to.
✔️Your website continuing to perform.
✔️Your SEO strategy moving forward in the background.

The work you do today helps build the visibility, trust and awareness that can turn into customers further down the line.

And if summer has left you thinking, “I simply do not have the time for this”, that’s where we can help.

You can concentrate on running your business, looking after your family and, ideally, getting five minutes to yourself with a brew☕️ Leave the digital marketing malarkey to us!

If your summer marketing has fallen by the wayside, give us a shout. We’d be happy to help you get things back on track📈🌱
