Meetings can be frustrating.

But what makes them worse?

The constant requests for “next slide please”. Because someone else is controlling the meeting.

You know what I mean. But luckily, so does Microsoft. And it’s introducing a small change to Teams that will make a BIG difference to your meetings…

Sick of saying “next slide please” in your Teams meetings? Microsoft has a small but powerful new feature that will put an end to that. Find out more here.

Ready to take the leap and upgrade your business PCs to Windows 11?

Great!

Ah… there’s just one teeny tiny little problem… your devices don’t meet the hardware requirements.

No worries - you can just go ahead and upgrade anyway, right?

WRONG.

This is why you really, really shouldn’t…

You might be ready for the upgrade to Windows 11, but is your hardware? Running the upgrade without meeting the minimum requirements could slow down everything in your business – and Microsoft won’t be there to help.

Public Wi-Fi is handy, right?

You can stay connected to your business pretty much everywhere you go – whether you’re catching a flight, grabbing lunch, or running to the supermarket after a day in the office.

But hold on a second. Before you join that network, think about the risks…

https://www.aztek.co.uk/the-hidden-dangers-of-public-wi-fi/

Public Wi-Fi can be a lifesaver when you must send an urgent email while out of the office. But did you know it can also put your business data at risk? These are the two big threats you and your team need to be aware of.

Imagine being able to upload a file directly into Google Search and ask specific questions about that file.

Sounds futuristic, right?

Well, this might soon become a reality. A rumour is buzzing about Google testing a new feature where you can upload a file (think PDFs, spreadsheets, or presentations) and then ask questions like, “What’s the most important point in this document?” or “Can you summarise this for me?”

For businesses, this could be huge. Imagine your team quickly analysing lengthy reports or pulling insights from contracts without spending hours sifting through details.

Employees could use it to instantly find key data in project briefs or financial summaries. This tool could save time, boost productivity, and help everyone make smarter decisions faster.

It’s worth noting that AI in Google services has had its hiccups, like inaccurate answers or copyright concerns. But if this feature gets it right, it could be a powerful tool for businesses of all sizes.

How can you see this feature benefitting your team?

Google might soon let you upload a file in Search and ask questions about it, though the feature is still in testing.

Does your Windows PC feel... cluttered?

You’re busy running your business, and it’s surprising how much junk accumulates over time.

A messy desktop, slow performance, or too many unused apps can make work frustrating and unproductive.

Luckily, decluttering your computer is easier than you think - and it can make a huge difference to your productivity.

Start with your desktop. If it’s covered in random files and folders, try using features like “Auto arrange icons” and “Sort by” to organise them. Better yet, create a “Temp” folder for the files you don’t need long-term, and keep your desktop clear for quick essentials.

Next, tackle your Start menu and taskbar. Right-click to pin or unpin apps, rearrange shortcuts, and hide features you don’t use. A tidy menu and taskbar make it easier to find what you need when you need it.

Also, don’t forget about storage. Run the built-in Disk Cleanup tool, or turn on Storage Sense through System Settings to clear out old files.

Lastly, review your apps and uninstall anything you don’t use. Not only will it free up extra space, it could help things load faster when you start up your PC.

When was the last time you and your team cleaned up your computers? If you need help with it, we can help streamline things for you. Get in touch.

Don't put up with a messy PC.

Windows 11 is saying goodbye to its “suggested actions” feature.

What’s that?

If you’ve ever copied a phone number or date and seen a pop-up suggesting a call or calendar event, it’s that one.

It was introduced in 2022 and was meant to save time. But Microsoft has decided it’s time for a change.

The feature’s being phased out, possibly because not many people used it. But of course, there’s something else on the way (for some people anyway).

Microsoft is rolling out a replacement called ‘Click to Do,’ an AI-powered tool that takes suggestions to the next level. It’ll offer smarter, context-based actions to help streamline tasks.

The catch? It’s only available on newer Copilot+ PCs with the hardware needed to support advanced AI features.

Unfortunately, older devices will just lose the “suggested actions” menu without a replacement.

If you’ll miss this feature, you can let Microsoft know through the Feedback Hub app. For most people though, this change might pass by unnoticed.

What do you think... will you miss “suggested actions,”? Or are you ready to embrace AI-powered tools like ‘Click to Do’?

On this day in 1986, Steve Wozniak, the co-founder of Apple, stepped away from the company he helped build.

It was the end of an era; but it didn’t come out of the blue. It’s thought that Wozniak felt Apple were focusing too much on the Mac while neglecting the Apple II, which was the product that had put Apple on the map.

For business owners, this moment in tech history serves as a powerful reminder: Never lose sight of what made you successful in the first place.

While innovation is important, so is maintaining the trust and loyalty of your core customers. It’s a tricky dance, but one worth mastering. And it’s essential for sustainable growth.

Since leaving Apple, Wozniak has continued to be a shareholder and occasional advisor while exploring other passions. Many people in the tech world think of him as an icon who isn’t afraid to do what he feels is right, whether it breaks new ground or not.

How does your business strike the balance between embracing new ideas and nurturing what’s already working?

February 6, 1986 Steve Wozniak, the co-founder of Apple Computer, decides to leave to pursue other interests. Reportedly he was unhappy that the company was devoting most of its resources to the Macintosh at the expense of the Apple II. He remained a shareholder on the board and eventually come back...

Imagine taking a quick screenshot of an invoice for a client, or even a photo of notes you’ve scribbled down in a meeting... and with just a few clicks, being able to magically turn that image into text you can edit.

That’s exactly what the Windows 11 Snipping Tool can do, thanks to its Optical Character Recognition (OCR) feature. And it’s so useful, it could be getting its own keyboard shortcut to make using it even easier.

Snipping Tool is already one of the handiest features in Windows 11. Instead of having to switch between different apps or manually type out text from images, it lets you copy text instantly.

It’s quick, accurate, and perfect for everyday business tasks like updating spreadsheets, drafting emails, or keeping digital records.

Using Snipping Tool has always involved a few different steps. But it’s been reported that Microsoft have been testing a shortcut (Win + Shift + T) that lets you jump straight into OCR mode without having to click through drop-down menus.

It would be great if this feature becomes available, and it’s one to keep an eye out for. Meanwhile, now would be a great time to get to grips with Snipping Tool and see how much time you can save.

Do you and your team already use Snipping Tool? Would a keyboard shortcut for the OCR feature be handy?

The Snipping Tool is one of Windows 11's best features, and it's getting a big boost soon with a direct keyboard shortcut for text OCR copy and paste.

Another useful update has been rolling out for Microsoft Copilot: Now it can read responses aloud.

Accessibility is important in business, and Microsoft's focusing on making its tools more inclusive. The update helps to empower employees with visual impairments, allowing them to use Copilot by listening.

This new feature is perfect for multitaskers too. Now you can listen to Copilot’s insights while you read reports, answer emails, or even while grabbing a coffee. It’s a smarter way to save time and get more done.

Copilot's new features are making it a must-have tool for businesses today. Whether it’s creating documents, brainstorming ideas, or even designing Word banners and translating conversations, Copilot is making it easier to stay productive.

Are you using Copilot in your business? How do you think this “read aloud” feature could help your team?

Ever dreamed of a world where your AI assistant not only writes brilliant responses but also narrates them like a tech-savvy audiobook? Wait no more—the future is here, and Microsoft Copilot is leading the charge with its latest enhancement: read-aloud support for chat responses. Set to launch...

It's so important to keep your business applications updated - and it’s about to get even easier.

Microsoft's testing a change to the Microsoft Store. It means you’ll be able to get updates for third-party apps along with the apps stored on Microsoft’s own server. All you have to do is go to the Microsoft Store, and it will show you available updates.

Running outdated software means your business misses out on the latest useful features, which could impact your productivity. Updates also include critical patches to help protect your business from cyber threats. So leaving them outdated can put you at risk.

This change makes the Microsoft Store an easy and convenient hub to manage all your app updates, saving you and your team time and effort.

While automatic updates won’t be available for third-party apps (you’ll need to update them manually through the Store), it’s a huge step towards making software management much easier.

Are you keeping your business apps up to date? When did you last update the apps you use?

The Microsoft Store will soon be able to update apps that aren't hosted on Microsoft's store servers.
