Today, we're proud to launch the Welsh Legal Sector Transformation Report 2026, produced in partnership with Legal News Wales.

We surveyed 51 Welsh SME law firms and in-house teams to understand what's really happening across the sector - from financial performance and pricing to recruitment, technology, AI and the future of the traditional law firm model.

The result is a snapshot of a sector that is changing, adapting and looking ahead.

This report explores the challenges Welsh firms are facing, the opportunities emerging across the sector, and what firms themselves think needs to happen next.

A week on from the ILFM Annual Conference, and we're still thinking about the conversations.

Last Wednesday, Osprey Approach was proud to sponsor the ILFM Annual Conference at The Law Society - bringing together legal finance and compliance professionals from across the sector.

And one thing was clear: legal finance is changing - and the role of finance teams is changing with it.

From discussions around AML supervision, client money, sanctions, to the wider challenges of operational change, leadership, resilience and building confidence through change, there was plenty for firms to think about.

The conference theme, "From Compliance to Confidence: Leading legal finance through change", felt particularly fitting. Compliance isn't standing still, and neither are the expectations placed on the people responsible for keeping firms financially sound, compliant and ready for what comes next.

But perhaps one of the biggest takeaways from the day was the value of getting people together.

We had some fantastic conversations at the Osprey stand - catching up with familiar faces, meeting new people and hearing first-hand what's keeping legal finance teams busy right now.

A huge thank you to the ILFM, all the speakers, fellow sponsors, exhibitors and everyone who came along and made it such a brilliant day.
