Around 30 players. 40 minutes. One very busy camera. 📸
After the success of our kit launch campaign, we got the men’s first team back in front of the lens for their official player portraits.
But we wanted to take these a little further than the standard football headshot.
Drawing on my background in cinema and fashion videography, we went for something darker, more cinematic and editorial — portraits that wouldn’t look out of place in a magazine.
The boys absolutely delivered… some more enthusiastically than others. 😂
And somehow, we got through around 30 of them in just 40 minutes.

After interviewing Steph Evans, I went home and wrote a song about her story. I never imagined that years later people would still be asking me about one lyric:
“G.I. Joe riding a unicorn.”
To me, it’s always been about refusing the idea that people have to fit into neat little boxes. You can be tough and gentle. Fierce and playful. You can wear army boots, get covered in mud, play rugby... and still love unicorns if you want to.
So I asked Ella if she’d help me bring that lyric to life through a portrait.
Massive thanks to Steph for sharing her story so honestly, and to Ella for trusting me with this idea.

Before the last show, we had no idea just how special the evening was going to be.
