Spent a few days at sea onboard MFV Sunbeam FR487 fishing for North Sea Herring. A chance to make sure the Echomaster Marine supplied SIMRAD ST93 and SIMRAD MF90 sonars were working at their best. SIMRAD ES80 split beam Echo sounders (38,120 and 200Khz versions) plus the new CP60 200khz current profiler to setup and calibrate. Also a chance to check out the performance of the FLIR dual payload stabilised Thermal Imaging camera when navigating the Norwegian coast in poor visibility- certainly provides the skipper with a lot of re-assurance on situational awareness whilst transiting through the fjords. Finally owners own SIMRAD FS70 trawlsonar providing real-time picture of fish entering the net behind the vessel.
