A real pleasure to work with the recently formed Pride in Place - Central Lowestoft Board and East Suffolk Council to design and develop the programme’s new website.
As well as creating the website, with a focus on making the user journey as smooth, accessible and intuitive as possible, I also supplied the photography - which meant running (OK, jogging… at a fairly slow pace) around Lowestoft capturing the areas where Pride in Place funding is being allocated.
As a born-and-bred Lowestoftian, I often hear people say that “the town has so much potential”. And it absolutely does. But there are also areas that have felt left behind, particularly around the high street.
While out photographing, I heard plenty of ideas and frustrations from local people: “Clear up the bird mess.” “Sort out the shop frontages.” “Make sure there’s more free, accessible parking.”
And that got me thinking: how often do we actually get the opportunity to have a REAL say in how we want our neighbourhood to look, work and thrive? Especially when there’s meaningful funding available to help make those ideas happen.
This is your opportunity to have your voice heard.
Through the Pride in Place Lowestoft website, you can:
1. Share your ideas - no matter how big or small.
2. Submit a fully developed concept - particularly useful for community groups and organisations wanting to share proposals alongside quotes, images and supporting documents.
3. Find upcoming events - meet the team in person, ask questions and share your ideas face-to-face.
