A Peavey Max 150 bass amp on the bench with excessive interference on the audio line making it almost unusable to play through .This combo is surprisingly light for it's size and thus provided a clue to a possible cause to the problem.
Removing the chassis showed there was no standard heavy transformer but instead a hybrid switch mode supply with an E.M.I. supressor immediately behind the A.C. input socket.
After inspection , resoldering stress points, cleaning sockets etc it became obvious by moving the two ribbon strip connectors that E.M.I. was present there. Removing the two cables I applied my time honoured method of shielding by winding aluminium foil strips followed by insulating tape + tie wraps around said items then refitted and adhesive applied to socket assembly.
This method dramatically reduces the interference down to an acceptable level.
Video just to show amp after remedial work completed.

A few months ago I repaired an ultra rare VOX T60 solid state combo amp and I was mighty impressed with it.
Here is another rare to find VOX amp, in this case a SUPREME head also solid state.I'm looking forward to working on it.
Note the stencil in white MAJORITY ONE , a band that was recording Lp & singles around 1970- 71.
