Meet Jennifer Walker, our Head of UK & EMEA.
She studied psychology at university and, to build the experience needed for a clinical psychology doctorate, joined the Prince’s Trust. The Trust operates as both a charity and a large business, involving major corporate partners, big donors and ambassadors. Jennifer ended up running corporate CSR programmes, managing volunteer and mentor networks, and taking on account management for some of the UK’s biggest brands.
That led her to L Marks, where similar structure is applied to innovation. She joined five and a half years ago as a Programme Manager and now leads UK and EMEA operations.
What Jennifer loves about the work is the variety, the creativity, and the people. No two clients or programmes are the same, and doing the job well means understanding the organisation you are working with: their aims, their people, their needs, and building around that. The team, she says, shares a standard: everyone cares deeply about what they do, and that makes a difference.
Organisations focus on the discovery and pilot phase, but what rarely gets built from the start is the infrastructure to succeed at scale. It gets treated as an afterthought, and that is why implementation often falls short. Innovation needs to be structured for scale before it begins. Designing that in from the start is at the core of how we work.
Outside work, Jennifer is a northern country girl with a city life. She loves independent restaurants, wine bars and long walks in wellies, and does fitness retreats. 🥾💪🏻 She discovered organic wine in Italy and has not looked back. 🍷
