Does anyone else hate this?

If you are one of the people doing this you need to rethink your lead generation strategy!

Connecting through the LinkedIn Message platform is awesome, don't get me wrong. I've made plenty of relationships and sales as a result of using it.

But sending some irrelevant automated messages to everyone with no personalisation whatsoever is really just a form of spamming.

By doing this all you do is get people's backs up and make yourself look desperate.

The best one has to be when someone spams me asking if I want help with lead gen!

If you want to approach people and make more sales, start by sending something personal and relevant to them, get a conversation going, build a relationship! Then once you know if you can help them, that's the time to consider a pitch.

This week we launched our new brand at a time when our economy is in free fall.

We’ve brought on 3 new organic clients since Monday, set up 3 more sales pitches for next week and stacked a bunch of warm prospects into our pipeline.

Many people would have said this is a stupid time to launch a business and I should wait.

In the next few days I’ll be launching a completely new brand.

Our digital marketing agency, Louder will represent all the things my team and I have been doing for our clients for many years.

Many people thought I was crazy launching a company during the lockdown but actually this is a time when people need our help the most.

🍽 So it turns out there are actually only 3 ways restaurants can increase their core revenue.

If you are not always working to increase each one of these 3 things as a restaurants then you are not going to grow efficiently.

If you are a restaurant owner, ask yourself:

What am I doing to increase exposure to new customers?

What am I doing to encourage people to come back?

How can I make people spend more with each transaction?

Make sure you take action to increase these three things with your marketing and sales strategy, if you are not consistently working towards improving these three things, you will not grow efficiently.

These things will not happen by magic, you have to have a strategy and take action, measure results, improve and keep moving the needle.

When a restaurant fails it is almost always because they have not taken control of at least one of these core measures.

I spoke to a restaurant owner this week who has essentially lost his business as he knows it as a result of this situation.

He never had takeaway options, no social presence, no ability to make money with any of his current options.

The attitude of this particular person in crisis was one of opportunity. this was so inspiring.

In the last week he's done all of this:

- Learned aspects of social media marketing
- Put recipes out online to build his list
- Created a simple food collection system with zero overheads that he can manage with just one staff member
- Reached out to me and others for advice

When people say X% of businesses fail in X amount of years, it's not because having a business is risky, its because a lot of business owners drop the ball at the first sign of trouble and don't understand the concept of adapting and working through hard times.

It's not to say that we can control the outcome of this situation, but those that continue to look for opportunities and stay positive will always win in life.

Make sure you surround yourself with people who have this kind of attitude.

The lockdown taken us all by surprise. It’s something we have little control over.

But we do have control over our reaction.

Your attitude in times of struggle will define you and your business.

No matter what your business is, there is ALWAYS a way to seek out new opportunities to grow if you want to.

Every business owner that has a location knows the importance of making sure their business looks good to passers by.

It’s why everyone puts so much budget and effort into making sure their premises looks top notch.

These pages give people and easy and fast way to form an opinion of our business and decide if we are in fact a business worth paying attention to.

🎭We're all told to 'know our customer'.

This is something marketers out there will be familiar with.

But the reality is 99% of businesses I engage with haven't really done much work on understanding their target market at all.

It's not that a business cannot function without understanding their customer well, but not really being clear on who you are serving will make finding ideal customer a lot harder.

Knowing your customers becomes even more relevant when we move into the online world, with so many social media platforms and places to put our brands, we need to be clear about where and how we position ourselves so we get the maximum return on our investment.

But it's not just about marketing.

Knowing who your ideal customers are means your whole company can work from the same road map, from communications right through to product development, by being clear on who your business targets, you can optimize every department of your business to sing their song.

Creating one or several customer avatars depending on who your business serves, will help you align your business more consistently with your target market and ensure everything you do is aligned with the people you want to do business with.

🥊 This is a particularly important message right now.

When we are forced to motivate ourselves, it can be very easy to let yourself off the hook day after day.

This lack of discipline can rack up fast and result in you never achieving your full potential.

Ask yourself honestly, ‘am I really pushing as hard as I can every day or am I secretly slacking?’

What you do when no one is watching will determine your success in life.

I always start my day with a tough gruelling workout, it isn’t always long, but it is always hard and most of the time, I really don’t want to do it.

By doing this I have trained my brain to accept taking on hard tasks. By starting the day with something really hard it makes my day of business seem all the more achievable and my confidence gets better day by day.

If you are struggling to stay on task, challenge yourself to workout every morning for a week and see how things change.
