The best compliment we get is that people forget we are there.

That sounds like a low bar. It is not. Getting a 120-person firm to the point where a full month goes by without anyone mentioning IT takes a lot of unglamorous work: patching on a schedule, monitoring that catches things before a user does, a helpdesk that resolves rather than logs, and a real plan for the boring failures that take a business offline for a day.

Most firms who come to us are not in crisis. They are just tired. Tired of chasing updates, tired of hearing "we're looking into it", tired of being the person stuck in the middle between their staff and a provider who has quietly gone reactive.

Most security is invisible, which makes it very hard to trust.

You pay the invoice, the products sit there, and the only evidence you have that any of it works is that nothing bad has happened yet. That is not evidence. That is a good run of luck.

Our security operations run twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, with people behind the screens rather than an alerting rule and a voicemail. Around 1,300 events analysed every second across roughly 5,500 endpoints. When something gets caught, you are told what it was, what was done about it, and what it means for you.

The reporting matters more than people expect. It is the difference between telling a client "yes, we take security seriously" and showing them what your provider actually stopped last month.

If you have never seen a report like that from your current setup, ask for one. The answer tells you a lot.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in, supported, donated to, or cheered on the KB Community 5K.

What started as a simple idea to bring people together ended up raising £300 for CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably), and I'm incredibly proud that Keybridge matched that amount, taking the total donation to £600.

Mental health affects all of us in one way or another, and CALM does an amazing job providing life-saving support to those who need it most.

Seeing our community come together for such an important cause was genuinely inspiring.

Last week we held the Keybridge Community 5K, bringing together customers, partners, friends and the Keybridge team for a morning run through London, all whilst raising money for CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably).

Despite the questionable weather 🌧️, the energy and support from everyone who joined us was incredible. It was great to see so many familiar faces away from the usual Teams calls and email threads, coming together for a cause that means a lot to us.

A huge thank you to everyone who ran, donated, cheered from the sidelines, and helped make the event such a success. Community is a big part of what we do at Keybridge, and events like this remind us why.

Accountancy runs to a calendar that does not negotiate.

The 31st of January does not move because your remote access is playing up. Neither does a payroll run, a VAT quarter or a set of statutory accounts. Everything in a practice is fine right up until the fortnight where it very much is not.

Which is why we plan around your year rather than ours. No major changes in deadline season. Capacity checked before the busy weeks rather than during them. Support that understands what a filing deadline means to your team's evening.

The other half of it is security, and the questions have got sharper. Practices hold exactly what a criminal wants: client bank details, UTRs, payroll files, and HMRC correspondence convincing enough to imitate. AML obligations and PI renewals now ask harder questions about how that data is protected, and "we have antivirus" is not the answer anyone is looking for.

Both of those are fixable. Neither is fixable in January.

Every firm we meet has some cyber security. Very few of them know whether it works.

There is a difference between having the products and having the protection. Antivirus that was installed once and never checked since. MFA that covers everyone except the three people who found it annoying. Backups that run every night and have not been restored from since the day they were set up.

None of that fails on a normal Tuesday. It fails on the one day you actually need it.

What we do about it is less exciting than it sounds. We monitor properly, twenty four hours a day, with real people behind it. We test the things everyone assumes are working. We keep controls current as Microsoft moves them, which it does constantly. And we write down what we find in language you can put in front of a board.

ISO 27001 certified, Cyber Essentials certified, Microsoft Solutions Partner. Those are the receipts rather than the pitch.
