GOODS WE LIKE

GOODS WE LIKE Celebrating good design since 2014. We believe in the relevance, power and joy of ‘buy less but better’. Relaunch Summer 2020

22/11/2020

A few months ago, I announced the relaunch of Goods We Like. A lot has happened since then - both personally and in the world around us. With everything that has happened, the team took a step back and reassessed the impact we wanted to make on the world. After many wonderful and difficult conversations, we have made the decision that Goods We Like is not the right way forward for us.

Instead we would like to introduce you to something new. Something we are really excited about. Something we believe will inspire the change we want to see in the world. Welcome to .less.but.better

Our ambition has always been to help you discover brands that design with people and planet in mind. That don’t think in cycles but create products that are made to last a lifetime. Buy less but better will continue to stand by these brands.

We will start by focusing our time, energy and efforts on raising awareness for some of the most important global challenges: over-consumption, waste, pollution, careless and excessive use of natural resources to name a few.

Change is needed from all of us. And the first step in tackling these challenges is to simply be more aware of our actions.

To be more conscious of the choices we make. To live better, with less, that lasts longer. To think twice. To buy once. To think long-term. To pursue less. To value quality over quantity. To buy less but better.

I am proud to share with you that we are launching buylessbutbetter.org. And we have made it our mission to fight blind consumerism.

Dear friends… we’re coming back!

It’s been a while since you last heard from us. We’ve taken some time to pause and think about the future of GOODS WE LIKE. And we are excited to say that we’re coming back; this summer.

Thanks to your support, our community has grown over the years and many of you have been asking us whether we’d come back. Thank you for your perseverance; thank you for pushing us; thank you for waiting.

We captured a few more thoughts below, so if you feel like it read on to find out how you can support us with our relaunch and for a few more words from our founder, Alex, on why we decided to come back.

Why we decided to come back.

It’s been over one and a half years now since we decided to pause, take a step back, reflect and decide what would happen next. A lot has happened in the meantime. The world has gone through quite some change, we’ve gotten older (and hopefully wiser), some of us have kids, others have focussed their energy on new projects while some are still wondering about their purpose in life… none of us, however, have given up on the vision that led us to start GOODS WE LIKE back in 2014.

Our vision for GOODS WE LIKE has always been to create a space for everyone, like yourself, to discover brands and products with meaning and substance. Good design. If you’re with us, then you’ll agree that the world doesn’t need more brands, it needs the right ones. We give a voice and platform to those who don’t think in cycles, but believe in products that are made to last a lifetime.

More so than ever, it’s important that we cut through the noise (and crap) of mass consumerism. Our aim has always been to create a destination that you can trust. A platform home to those brands that deserve to be promoted. A space that inspires you to make better choices. This is why we exist. And this is why we decided to continue.

We believe in the relevance, power and joy of ‘buy less but better’.

Thank you for your continued support,
Alex & Team
