London's newest creative hotspot is about to open its doors 🚀

This week sees the opening of the Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration, the UK's only permanent home for illustration and the world's largest centre devoted to the art form.

Step inside the stunning restored New River Head in Clerkenwell and discover galleries, gardens, a creative studio, library, café and more.

The opening line-up is seriously good: over 100 original works in Quentin Blake: Performance, the groundbreaking Q***r as Comics exhibition exploring 80 years of LGBTQIA+ comic-making, and MURUGIAH: Ever Feel Like…, an immersive burst of colour, creativity and pop culture.

June and July bring a packed programme of design festivals, exhibitions and cultural moments across the UK, from Birming...

June and July bring a packed programme of design festivals, exhibitions and cultural moments across the UK, from Birmingham Design Festival and the London Festival of Architecture to the return of WOW!house and the Treasure House Fair.

Highlights include the unveiling of the 2026 Serpentine Pavilion in Kensington Gardens, while London Glassblowing marks its 50th anniversary with a landmark exhibition celebrating contemporary studio glass and the artists connected to its history.

Across the summer, institutions and creative spaces will also explore themes of materiality, craft and collectability through events such as Permanence/Impermanence: Collecting & Archiving Contemporary Clay Practices and Cockpit Studios’ 40th Anniversary Auction.

Elsewhere, festivals, talks and city-wide activations continue to champion emerging talent, contemporary making and new conversations around architecture, interiors and design culture.
