We've just released FastNetMon Advanced 2.0.380: a security-focused update that patches multiple CVEs in core packet processing components including BGP, Flow Spec, Netflow v9, and IPFIX.

The good news: no active exploitation has been confirmed.
The recommendation: upgrade immediately anyway.

One of the biggest DDoS-for-hire botnets just had its operator arrested.

KimWolf: 1M+ infected devices, ~30 Tbps peak, 25,000+ attack commands, before a joint Canada/US/Germany operation shut it down in March 2026.
45 booter platforms seized alongside it. New ones will appear. The cat-and-mouse continues.

FastNetMon Advanced 2.0.379 is out — and this one is a significant under-the-hood update.

The release introduces a major rewrite of how FastNetMon loads and looks up IPv4 and IPv6 networks, with improvements to scalability, concurrency, and memory management. Particularly relevant for operators running large BGP tables, dense prefix sets, or heavy automation around network updates.

Inside Telecom just covered FastNetMon LiveView, and it's worth a look if you manage network infrastructure.

LiveView brings together traffic analytics, DDoS event history, host and ASN breakdowns, and configuration management in a single browser-based interface — built on top of FastNetMon's existing detection engine.

The idea is to give network and security teams a shared view they can actually use during an incident, rather than jumping between tools after the fact.
