Another little book of pictures from the National Theatre 📖

I love making these little books after visiting a building – just collecting the things I noticed along the way, without trying to make everything look too perfect. The bits of concrete, strange corners, textures, shadows, tiny details and views that made me stop and take a picture.

These photos became one of the starting points for this month’s Formwork Print Club. It feels nice to keep a little record of what caught my eye before turning those observations into something completely new. 🏛️

The Czech Embassy in London 🇨🇿

I’ve walked past this building more times than I can count, but I still can’t resist stopping for a look. Built in the Brutalist style in the 1960s, it was designed by Czech architects Jan Bočan, Jan Šrámek and Karel Štěpánský, and has been home to both the Czech and Slovak diplomatic missions since the split of Czechoslovakia in 1993.

I love how unapologetically concrete it is – especially those chunky geometric forms. Another one for my ever-growing London Brutalist collection.

THE SECRET IS OUT.

This month, Formwork Print Club is taking you to the National Theatre.

One of London’s most iconic brutalist buildings – and one I’ve wanted to turn into a print for a long time.

Here’s the full reveal of this month’s print club.

Vegas isn't just neon lights and casinos.

Back in May, I spent the day exploring the University of Nevada campus, photographing the Flora Dungan Humanities Building and the William D. Carlson Education Building. Some of the best architecture is often hiding in plain sight.

And yes… the ending of the video is a little joke. I say concrete is the only thing I'll ever bet on because betón means concrete in Slovak (same as the French word for concrete). I couldn't resist. 😄

There's something really satisfying about this part of the process. ✂️

Cutting the little graphic cards always makes the month's theme feel real. This time it's the National Theatre, and I love seeing all the tiny details come together before they become part of the next Formwork Print Club.

Another London station I can't walk past without stopping. 🖤

Bermondsey Station was designed by Ian Ritchie Architects as part of the Jubilee Line Extension, and it's one of those places that makes an everyday commute feel a little more special. The exposed concrete, the geometry and the way natural light reaches deep underground... it's architecture done right.

Centre Point never has a bad angle... but these windows might be my favourite detail.

This month's Formwork Print Club postcard celebrates the iconic façade that has made Centre Point one of London's most recognisable landmarks.

Every month I pack each Formwork Print Club envelope by hand, filling it with this month's print and a few little extras inspired by one of London's most iconic buildings.

There's something special about sending architecture through the post and seeing these envelopes make their way to homes around the world.

A small upgrade that makes a big difference. ✨
From this month onwards, every Formwork Print Club postcard is printed on beautiful 312gsm fine art paper for an even richer finish and a more premium feel. It's one of those little details that makes opening your monthly envelope even more special.
