Phone mic vs. Evermix - wait for the quality switch 🎧

Same room, same moment, completely different clarity.

When was tearing up the Main Room at for , recording on a phone mic gives you muffled bass and blown-out highs. Plugging in the EvermixBox gives you direct, unclipped soundboard audio straight into your iPhone.

If you’re still relying on your phone microphone to film your sets, you’re not hearing what the crowd is actually hearing.

Your DJ content can be good and still flop - the way you post it is messy.
Part 3 of Tips Every DJ Needs To Hear - how to post:
1. Your first line hooks or loses. No in-between.
2. Talk how you actually talk. AI-sounding captions feel dishonest.
3. Short caption + strong hook beats long caption + weak hook.
4. Tag the artists you play - their fans are your fans waiting to happen.
5. Drop the track ID in comments to keep people in the thread.
6. Tell people to save your post.
7. 3-5 specific hashtags beat 20 generic ones.
8. Post before and after a gig - anticipation, then payoff.
9. Reels grow reach. Carousels grow saves. Stories grow trust.
10. Caption your videos. Most people watch on mute.

Save this, follow for Part 4.

Fat Tony took over the Main Room at Studio 338 for Soultown Festival Garden Party, the moment the day shifted from soulful garden party energy into a proper club night.

A dancefloor-first snapshot from one of London’s true club culture pioneers, captured live, exactly as it sounded.

POV: David Guetta DJing at Space Ibiza Terrace in the late 90s.
No phones in the air. No VIP tables. No bottle-service energy.
Just house music, a packed terrace, and people actually dancing together.
Would you have wanted to experience this era?

If you’re serious about getting booked, start acting like your sets are your portfolio.
Record them. Label them. Post them.
Because people can’t hire what they can’t hear.

Quick checklist for every gig:
- aim for direct-from-mixer audio (not phone mic)
- clip 3–5 highlights (intro, switch-up, best 30 seconds, biggest crowd moment)
- name the file properly: date + venue + city + vibe + key track IDs
- repurpose one set into weeks of content (teaser → full mix → track IDs → BTS)

And most importantly: record consistently. The best moments are never the ones you plan.
Save this and make “record the set” part of your rider.

If you’re playing the long game, this is your reminder:
Your content is compounding - what you post today can still book you a gig 6 months from now.
You don’t need one viral moment.

You need:
- consistency for a year
- a back catalogue that proves you can deliver
- the right 500 people paying attention

Stop waiting for “perfect”. Post the thing. Build the portfolio.
Because the promoters + artists you want to work with are watching — even when you think they aren’t.
Save this for the days you feel like disappearing.

DJs - filming the content is only half the workflow. The real growth comes from how you post, share and repurpose it.
Here’s how creators are turning one DJ mix into multiple pieces of content:
1. Post the strongest moment as a Reel / TikTok
2. Share it to Stories with a CTA
3. Add the full mix or clean recording to Mixcloud / SoundCloud
4. Send the link to promoters, managers or brands
5. Reuse the best 10–20 seconds as a hook for another post
With Evermix, you can record clean audio + video straight from the mixer, then publish or share it without faffing around with laptop exports, syncing audio or messy files.

If you don’t know what to post as a DJ - you’re probably just overthinking it.

Here’s Part 2 of Tips Every DJ Needs To Hear - what to post:
1. Show one technique per Reel (one point per video)
2. Post the underground track from your warm-up set (taste > chart fillers)
3. Film your prep: crate digging, track selection, playlist building
4. Your mistakes are content - show the mistake + the fix
5. “3 tracks I’m playing in every set right now” = instant save bait
6. Turn the camera round - crowd reaction usually beats hands-on-decks
7. Go behind the soundcheck (people never see this)
8. Share what inspired you before you even started DJing - what sounds made you
9. Talk through your set flow: opener → builder → first ‘moment’ track
10. Document the small gigs + wins - the big ones hit harder when people saw the journey

Follow for Part 3, and comment “IDEAS” if you want a simple weekly DJ posting plan.
