What are you still paying for?

That's the question for today's session.

Not because every licence is bad.

Not because every tool should be cut.

Not because cheaper is always better.

But because most agencies have something in the stack that no longer has a clear job.

An unused Microsoft licence.
A paid mailbox that should be shared.
A tool that overlaps with something already in Microsoft 365.
A user account left hanging around.
A feature included in the plan but never touched.

It all feels small.

Until you multiply it by months, users and renewals.

Today at 1 PM I'm running:

What to cut. What to use. How to spend smarter on Microsoft 365.

We'll cover:

What to cut
What to use
How to spot licence creep
Which built-in tools are often missed
How to think about Basic, Standard and Premium
What a proper quarterly licence check should include

No jargon.

No pitch.

Bring the awkward invoices and the "is this normal?" questions.

Cheaper to fix in half an hour than carry for another 12 months.

Most agencies don't overspend on Microsoft 365 on purpose.

It happens quietly.

A licence nobody reviewed.

A leaver nobody removed.

A shared mailbox still treated like a person.

A third-party tool that Microsoft 365 already partly covers.

A "we'll sort it later" that never gets sorted.

And then Microsoft keeps billing.

That's the problem with Microsoft 365 spend.

The waste is rarely dramatic.

It's usually boring.

Which is exactly why nobody looks at it.

Tomorrow at 1 PM I'm running:

What to cut. What to use. How to spend smarter on Microsoft 365.

We'll look at licences, unused tools, duplicate subscriptions, shared mailboxes, Basic vs Standard vs Premium, and the features agencies may already be paying for but not using.

The aim is not to make IT cheaper at all costs.

The aim is to make the spend make sense.

Because a licence without a purpose is just recurring waste.

ยฃ14.85 per user sounds cheap.

Until nobody uses it properly.

Then it becomes another licence sitting quietly on the Microsoft bill.

That's the real Copilot question for recruitment agencies.

Not:

"Can it write an email?"

Yes, it can.

Not:

"Can it summarise a meeting?"

Yes, it can.

The better question is:

Where does Copilot actually save recruiter time?

Can it help prepare for client calls?
Can it turn meeting notes into follow-ups?
Can it summarise candidate conversations?
Can it help draft job specs?
Can it find buried information across Outlook, Teams and files?
Can it reduce the admin that stops recruiters from actually recruiting?

That's what we're covering today at 1 PM.

Copilot for Recruiters: What it actually does, and what it doesn't

No jargon.

No pitch.

No "AI will change everything" fluff.

Just a practical walkthrough of where it helps, where it doesn't, and what needs to be in place before rolling it out properly.

A Copilot licence is easy to buy.

Getting value from it is the harder part.

That's where most agencies get stuck.

They buy the licence.

A few people test it.

Someone asks it to write an email.

Someone asks it to summarise a meeting.

Everyone says "that's impressive."

Then a month later, usage quietly drops.

Not because Copilot is useless.

Because nobody mapped it to the work recruiters actually do every day.

Client calls.
Job specs.
Candidate summaries.
Interview notes.
Follow-ups.
Inbox triage.
Searching across Teams, Outlook and files.

That's where the value is.

Not in "AI wrote me a paragraph."

Tomorrow at 1 PM I'm running:

Copilot for Recruiters: What it actually does, and what it doesn't

We'll look at where it genuinely saves time, where it just looks clever, and why teams quietly stop using it.

No hype. No pitch. Just practical examples for recruitment agency owners.

"We assume MFA is on."

"We assume leavers are removed."

"We assume Defender is protecting us."

"We assume Business Premium means we're covered."

"We assume backups are sorted."

That word "assume" is doing a lot of heavy lifting.

Most recruitment agencies are not ignoring cyber security.

They are relying on assumptions.

And assumptions are fine, until something breaks.

Today at 1 PM, I'm running:

Cyber basics: 5 basics most agencies haven't sorted yet

We'll look at the boring controls that quietly protect your agency:

MFA and conditional access
Email protection
EDR and device management
Leavers, access and admin accounts
Backups, and what "covered" really means

No scare tactics.

No jargon.

No hooded hacker nonsense.

Just a practical check of what's actually switched on, what's half-configured, and what you may already be paying for but not using properly.

Cyber basics should be verified, not assumed.

Three things recruitment agencies often assume:

๐Ÿ”น Cyber Security is sorted
๐Ÿ”น Copilot will save time magically because it's AI
๐Ÿ”น Microsoft 365 spend is 'under control'

This week we're addressing those assumptions, with facts, with reality, with solutions.

๐Ÿ“… Tue 28th โ€“ Cyber Basics - 5 basics most agencies haven't sorted yet
๐Ÿ“… Wed 29th โ€“ Copilot for Recruiters - 5 basics most agencies haven't sorted yet
๐Ÿ“… Thu 30th โ€“ Spend Smarter on Microsoft 365 - What to cut. What to use.

Practical. Straightforward. No sales pitch.

Most agencies do not get caught out because they ignored IT completely.

They get caught out because too much is assumed.

โ€œCyber is probably sorted.โ€

โ€œCopilot should save time.โ€

โ€œMicrosoft 365 spend is just what it is.โ€

Maybe.

But maybe those assumptions are quietly costing time, money and control.

This week Iโ€™m running three short sessions for recruitment agency owners who want straight answers, not vague tech talk.

Tuesday, 1 PM
Cyber basics: 5 basics most agencies havenโ€™t sorted yet

Wednesday, 1 PM
Copilot for Recruiters: What it actually does, and what it doesnโ€™t

Thursday, 1 PM
What to cut. What to use. How to spend smarter on Microsoft 365.

No jargon.

No scare tactics.

No pitch.

Just practical sessions to help you check what is actually working, what is quietly drifting, and what may be costing you more than it should.

If one of those topics made you pause, that is probably the one to attend.
