As Hurricane Idalia approaches, the ports of Jacksonville, Savannah, and Brunswick have taken precautionary measures to ensure the safety of everyone involved.

🔒 Vessel operations at the Port of Savannah and Brunswick have been suspended from August 29th to August 31st.

🌐 Port authorities are closely monitoring the hurricane's path while securing equipment and facilities to ensure the safety of employees, customers, and business partners.

🌀 Hurricane Idalia has made landfall in Florida and has been downgraded to a category three storm as of last Wednesday.

🌐 We've been closely following Pyxic Oceans' maiden journey, from China to Brazil, using Pole Star Global’s PurpleTRAC and MDA solutions.

🌊 Currently navigating the vast expanse of the Indian Ocean, Pyxis Oceans' destination is crystal clear: Paranagua, Brazil, with an ETA that reads September 15th.

🛳️ We can see the ship docked at Suzhou, China for 2 months (June/July), and conducted pre-voyage sea trials before setting sail for Brazil.

🚢 President Ali Bongo in put under house arrest after a disputed election. Borders are closed, and state institutions are dissolved.

🏴‍☠️ The situation has led to a buildup of vessels around Gabon's ports, including Owendo near the capital, Libreville, and Port Gentil in the south. Port operations have come to a halt, with vessels unable to enter or leave since the coup announcement.

⚓️ British maritime security firm Ambrey reports on the closure of movements in and out of Gabon, while German shipping company Hapag Lloyd and Denmark's A.P. Moller-Maersk have ships stranded due to border closures.
