A CLEAN HOUSE DOESN’T START WITH CLEANING. 👀
It starts with the tiny decisions you make all day long.
Those extra 5–30 seconds matter:
1. 👟 Walk in? Put your shoes where they belong. Not just by the door.
2. 👜 Don’t drop your bag. Empty what needs emptying and put everything where it belongs.
3. 🧥 Coat on the hanger. The chair is not a wardrobe. 😅
4. 🛏️ Air your bed before making it. Pull the covers back, open the window and let everything ventilate. Then make it.
5. 👕 Clothes off? Decide immediately. Wardrobe, drawer or laundry basket. NOT the chair!
6. 🥛 Finished with a cup? Take it with you and put it away.
7. 🍽️ Leaving the kitchen? Reset it. Plates away, crumbs wiped, food put back.
8. 📦 Opened a parcel? Flatten the box and recycle the packaging straight away.
9. 🧴 Used something? Put it back where it lives.
10. 🧺 Going upstairs or downstairs? Take something with you that belongs there.
11. 🛋️ Leaving a room? Give it a 30-second reset — cushions back, blanket folded, cups out.
12. 📬 Post comes in? File it, action it or bin it. No mystery piles!
13. 🛒 Shopping? Put ALL of it away — including the bags.
14. 🚿 Leaving the bathroom? Hang the towel and put your products back.
15. 🌙 Before bed, do a 10-minute reset. Wake up to a home that’s already tidy.
And here’s the habit that changes EVERYTHING:
Stop putting things DOWN and start putting things AWAY.
When you make these tiny decisions throughout the day, mess doesn’t get the chance to build up.
And when your house is already tidy, actual cleaning can take HALF the time.
You’re not wasting your cleaning time moving things around. You’re actually cleaning — dusting, hoovering, mopping and scrubbing.
A clean house doesn’t start with cleaning. It starts with how you live in it.
