Donald Trump has already preceded with statements and commitments that could drastically alter
countries and foreign cultures. In this report we see where the President-Elect provokes more
interest.
With much controversy surrounding the debates, Trump suffused search engines and social media
platforms alike; With over 22,006 average daily Google searches in the top 5 countries, India
ranked 5th due to Donald Trump’s business venture, with more projects underway in Mumbai than
any other location on his list. Within the South Asia region, India had more impressions than any
other country, being responsible for 27.2% of the Google searches for the words ‘Donald Trump’.
He believes the $2-trillion gross in domestic products is worth investing into, and has been praising
the uprise of the city of Mumbai. According to the Wall Street Journal, they favoured Trump ahead
of the primary votes than any other candidate, leaving a great imprint on the country.
However, the more controversial relationships include Canada and Mexico; combining to account
for 21.4% of the total Google searches globally. Many analysts are concerned about the
economics and trade between the two bordered countries running into the USA. Mexico
particularly worried due to his immigration policies and how it could effect their association. As his
tirade on the Mexican-American border to build a wall has outraged the country. With this worry in
mind, Mexicans search the term ‘Trump’ 1,011 times per day, leaving a large impression on google
search engines.
Beyond the USA and across the Atlantic, the name Donald Trump dominates search engines in
Europe with impressions of 43.8%. The whole EU has 2.16 times more Google searches than
NAM. European countries are genuinely interested in the trade unions and deals they can both
strike up with Mr. Trump. The republican strikes up more interest in these regions due to his
‘right-wing’ views with statistics showing that up to 13.3% of the Google searches were coming
from the capita of France; making it the second highest country globally interested in the words
‘Donald Trump’.
