Luke in the mountains 🗻

This is where the founder and managing director of Switched On Solutions, Luke, found himself last week at the top of a snow covered mountain narrowly avoiding this situation due to inclement weather on Mont Blanc. This was avoided by the guides expertise to allow them to clime another peak safely. 🌨❄

Our company name is not only a clever acronym used to highlight electric/networking devices but is also an internationally understood distress signal. So when your business experiences a data issue, who are you going to call? 📞

Behind the name at Switched on Solutions💡 🔌

When our Director, Luke created Switched on Solutions Ltd the name choice was intentional. The word 'Switch' has a two fold meaning in our world, light switch & network switch.

Behind every fast fibre connection is work like this. 👌

Yesterday, Ewan was splicing a 24-core single-mode fibre cable into a patch panel, joining the main feed onto fibre pigtails for a neat, low-loss, and reliable installation. It's all about precision.

Definitely the people and the variety there’s always something new to get involved with.

I’ve strengthened my problem-solving, and plus picked up loads of practical knowledge working within the data center environment.

I have a undefeated boxing record 🥊

Another last-minute challenge successfully delivered.

A huge well done to the team for pulling together to get a client’s fibre network commissioned and online under tight timescales. Sometimes the best work happens when you have to think outside the box, and this was a great example of experience, teamwork and determination paying off.

What do you enjoy most about working at Switched On Solutions?
No two days are ever the same. I enjoy working with a great team and being involved in every part of the business, from supporting our engineers and office staff to improving processes and helping the company continue to grow.

What skills have you developed since joining the team?
I've developed my leadership and operational management skills, as well as a much deeper understanding of compliance, HR, finance, and business systems. I've also learned how important communication and problem-solving are in keeping everything running smoothly. My proudest moment is obtaining all the accreditations for the firm.

What is a fun fact that people might not know about you?
I used to dance - latin and ballroom for over 10 years. 💃
